Stayed in April 2015 Usually do not write negative reviews for resorts, but this was heights. This hotel as booked by one of my acquaintances and he was not aware of how this hotel was working, since one of his school mates was in charge of this hotel. It is situated 3 kms from the Mukki gate inside a village. Ok let me put all the issues in pointers: 1-Link sent was wrong:The link sent for this hotel was that of some other hotel near Kanha gate and it was some 50 kms away from the original resort. So, when we reached the wrong resort (which seemed to us the right one, since the link sent to us gave us the address of the particular resort) we were terrified to hear that there was no booking in our name. We called up the person who had done the booking-Bharath and to our dismay we found out that we were in the wrong resort altogether. So, we had to shell out extra INR 1000 for the taxi we had booked. 2-Few signboards: You really need to knock your head off to reach the resort, since there were only 3 signboards and we had a tough time asking the directions for the resort. Due to the poor network connection, we were not able to find the location through GPS either. 3- Lunch was not served: We started from Bandhavgarh at about 10.00am and reached the resort at 6.00pm and the best part was we were not served any food at that particular time. Why? Because we were late for the lunch time, as if it was our fault. 4-Room was shabby: I clearly do not know about the rest of the rooms, but the one's we stayed were utterly disgusting. The first room that we were allotted had its plug point's coming out, so they told my spouse that we were mishandling the plug points and then after allotted us the room adjoining it. There also it was the same issue, the plug points were coming out every time we tried to plug out our chargers. The concrete was falling off from the walls, there were lizard's in our room, the wire was peeping from the celing, the paint had chipped off from the door, the bed-sheet had stains on it, the pillow cover's were torn, the towel's were torn.. Etc.. Etc. 5-Dirty swimming pool: It was very hot outside and after the morning safari we thought of taking a dip in there so called pool and man what a pool it was. The water was so murky that we couldn't even see our very own feet. There were all kinds of insects in the water and they did bite us. After complaining to the hotel in-charge Bharath, we got the most unexpected reply “kya kar sakte hain". 6-The package that was provided to us was veg package. So, when I checked with the in-charge he said us that non-veg cannot be served. Understood!! Now did you give us an option to change the package to non-veg? No, he did not. 7- Room service: Every time we had our food, it was in the room itself. There was no place to keep the plates, we had to hold it in our hands and eat the food. And the last day before our check-out the in-charge told us that we do not provide the room service, but since you were the only 2 in the resort we were serving the food in the room. So fyip Mr In-charge, we did not ask you tp serve in the room, it was cumbersome and very uncomfortable for us to have the food in the room. 8-Food was served late: The staff continually asked us when we would like to have our meals and the best part was that the meals arrived almost always half an hour late than the committed time. Super service dude!!! 9-Food items served were different: Whenever we used to ask the for snacks, the over-smart hotel boy reply was- “ aap bolo apko kya khana hai, yahain sab kuch milta hai". So, we ordered a few snacks. When we were served, we realized that they were not the snacks we had ordered, so when we asked them what happened to the food items we had originally ordered, the reply came “ Sir, khatam ho gaya hai". 10-Breakfast was pathetic: The only word that comes to my mind when thinking of the breakfast is pathetic. We were only served “Aloo ke parathe" the whole 3 days that we were there in the resort. Nothing else except for that. No options at all. I understand that we were the only 2 guests at that point of time in the resort, but then why should we be penalized for that? Did we not pay for the food and stay there??? 11-Inconsiderate staff: The morning safari was for 5 hrs. So, whatever breakfast was packed had to be served with the driver and the guide of the safari, unless you happen to be in the mukki zone, where they have a restaurant. Unfortunately, we had booked the Kanha zone and so we had to share the food. Now, I am not saying that I mind sharing the food with the driver and the guide, but what I am emphasizing that, in a 5 hrs safari from 6.00am to 11.00am, where there are no restaurants inside the park, the hotel had provided us with only 4 “aloo ke parathe", so each one of us had to eat 1 paratha, there was no juice, nothing. We did not know that the driver and the guide have to share food there(everyone does the same and the hotel packs for them separately), but the hotel guys knew and still they were inconsiderate enough not to pack extra food. 12-Used mineral bottle: It was only during the last night of our stay there, that I discovered that we were served water in used mineral bottles. Whoa!!!! I asked my husband if he was aware of it and he said no. All this time, we were served water in used mineral bottles. 13-Resort does not have a car of its own: Now this resort is remotely located in a village, where there are no networks at all and the resort doesn't even has a car of it's won. We were to travel from Kanha to Jabalpur and after repeated and frequent follow-ups with the hotel staff, with much reluctance they booked our cab. 14-TV Room: We were said that there will be wildlife shows which would be played every evening in the TV room. That's funny because we were never invited for such a show, all that the TV room had were bollywood movies played in loud music. 15-Hidden expenses: On the final day, when we were doing the final payment, we were told that we had to pay for the snacks and the tea that we had there. Shouldn't they be added in the package, but no. So, we had to pay for whatever the hotel guy asked us for. 16-No ATM, no card machine, no network: Ok, here' the icing on the cake. We were not informed that the nearest ATM was 1 hr from the resort and that they did not have the card reading machine, nor was there cell phone connection. So, on the last night my husband had to go with one of the hotel staff at 10.00 pm in the night to withdraw money from the nearest ATM which was one hr from the resort. So, he had to leave me alone in the room. Being in my situation, I a girl being left alone in a unknown place and my husband going with some random person who we have met for the first time at 10.00pm in the night, where there were no street-lights, no phone signals on a bike, I was mentally traumatized. I was worried for him till he reached the hotel at 11.45pm in the night. Oh and the hotel staff told us that we should have carried cash- so they were expecting us to carry INR 20k to INR 25k in cash. 17-All payments to be done beforehand: When our taxi arrived to take us to Jabalpur, one of the hotel staff came and demanded that we pay the taxi fare now. So, my husband asked why now and the reply was “ Yahain pe aisa hi hota hai" 18- Yahain pe aisa hi hota hai: For everything that we asked or complained, we got only one reply-“Yahain pe aisa hi hota hai" and being in a situation here we could not do anything we had to accept all that they said. 19-Animal cruelty: There were 2 grown pups in the hotel and those little guys were wandering around, not even coming near to any of us or people in general and the hotel staff kept on hitting them with no rhyme or reason. 20-ok staff: the hotel manager Bharath and the staff are too over-smart and ill-mannered. I guess they should be given a lesson on what to say, what not to say to guests and even how to talk to their guests. Basic manner's were lacking. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! There are no shops nearby, so you might want to pack a few chips and water bottles when you go there or stay in this resort in particular. First and last time, I would be staying there, not to forget HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED!!!
