Good hotel to stay with with neat rooms

Posted 30 Jul, 2015

It was a weekend leisure trip to Mandawa. We went to see the fort (which is sadly converted into a hotel) and the havelis. As we are travellers and we reach out to understand the history in India, we expected the place to have a story about itself . . The Hotel Mandawa Haveli is a very nicely built and designed hotel with courteous staff and neat rooms. The only probably flaw being that there is no intercom, at least wasn't there in the room we stayed in. So we can't call anyone if we need anything. My partner booked the hotel through some website and got the confirmation of the booking, however, when we reached the hotel, we were told that they have not received any such notifications and they offered us the room only after we forwarded the message to them. The credit card machine wasn't working there so we had to go out to the market to hunt for ATMs. None of the ATM had funds as it was EID weekend. Finally we did manage to get funds from a remotely located SBI ATM which was dysfunctional, but did came to our rescue eventually. We didn't see the fort as we didn't want to get into a hotel and the havelis didn't attract either so we left the place back to Delhi. Overall the drive was good, but the place Mandawa didn't give us any much of history. I would recommend travellers, to stay at Hotel Mandawa Haveli, in case they are travelling to Mandawa.

Good appearance, supportive staff

Posted 30 Jul, 2015

Good appearance, good service, supportive staff but food was costly, all other things are good. I have been there for two days. Overall, a good experience. Heritage place is around there. Room A/C was sounding.

Warm hospitality and offers required facilities

Posted 31 May, 2015

Wow. That's the word which comes to mind when you step into the Mandawa Haveli. Off the crowded road, next to an ornately decorated gate which leads into the village, (don't miss spending some time studying this beautifully carved gate) you come across an old moustached man who is smoking a Hookah. He smiles at you, his eyes crinkling with joy as he waves you inside. You are still wondering where you have landed till the ornate Haveli entrance hits you right between the eyes. And hence the Wow. If you are lucky, Dineshji, the owner (And a respected person in all of Mandawa and a few suburbs) will be holding the reception desk. If not you will see pleasant Raakesh who is ready to jump up and solve all your problems. The bigger the better The signing in is done in a whisper and it is time to see the Haveli itself. The Haveli has been in the family for more than a hundred years and used to be their living quarters till Tourism hit Mandawa. The beauty is in the paintings which festoon every wall. A week would not be enough for a visitor to savor all the paintings. Ask Dineshji and he will lovingly explain at length the time it takes and the skills of doing each painting. Just repairing one takes a month. The rooms are another surprise. Each reconditioned heritage room is lovingly draped in curtains, has its quota of paintings, a modern toilet and a loving attendant. The service is impeccable and the food, if you stick to the local cuisine, tasty and imagined. Taste and culture in one plate. One cannot thank Dineshji and his staff enough for making living at the Haveli an experience of a life time. Oh yes, the surrounding areas are all as rich as the Haveli itself. Frankly, did not get enough time at the Haveli to explore the surroundings, but what I saw told me that if I am to enjoy the beauty of Mandawa, several weeks are not going to be enough.

Good staff but need to improve a lot in facility

Posted 20 Feb, 2015

It's a good place, but some facility need to be improved. Hot water system was not working in every room, bathroom should be cleaned and keep it in workable condition. Food quality to be improved. Staff is good and cooperative. But they can do better if they give them some professional training .

Peaceful location and felt comfortable to stay

Posted 6 Jan, 2015

Very good hotel and nice to stay. Good food; reception and welcome are good. If any body going to Jhunjhnu, it is better to stay in this hotel and it is only 40 km away from Jhunjhnu. Peaceful place to stay and felt like home. Old traditional bhavan like quarter but felt comfortable.
