Bagdogra airport needs to be improved

6.00/7

Quite good experience. Good staff and courteous. Interiors not very good. Need investment. However, all in all ok. Check in reasonably efficient. Delhi airport was definitely excellent. But, Bagdogra leaves a lot to be desired. You feel two decades in history at Bagdogra.

Only flight available in the afternoon

5.50/7

We board this flight from Delhi Airport. This only flight is available in the afternoon. Airport services was good. It took only 1/2 hrs time to check-in into flight. Checking process and boarding was absolutely hassle free. We had good travel in GoAir. Food was actually good in GoAir.

Little expensive but Air India is excellent

7.00/7

Delhi to Bagdogra by Air India is a very good option. Early bookings will be available at Rs 3000 per person for one side. Food and service by Air India is good and it took off from International Airport at New Delhi. Bagdogra Airport is near Jalpaiguri city in Bengal. Try and book your tickets at the morning time because you need extra 3-4 hours to go by taxi to reach Gangtok or Darjeeling. Bagdogra to Gangtok will take 3 to 4 hours and taxi would charge Rs. 1200.

Adventures and a comfortable car travel

6.00/7

I, K.K.Tulsian with my friends the group of 6 person all above 60 years went by our own car Mahindra Xylo from Delhi travelling about 5000 km covering Chitrakoot, Allahabad, Varanasi, Bhagalpur, Deoghar (Baijnath Dham), Dumka, Siliguri, Darjeeling, Peeling, Gangtok, (Sight seeing from Gangtok- Baba Mandir, China Border, Lachen, Lachung, O-Point etc), Siliguri, Jnakpur Dham (Nepal), Khatmandu (Nepal), Pokhra (Nepal), Ayodhaya, Delhi in 20 days. We started from Delhi on 16th May, 2014 and were back on 4th June, 2014. The best time to travel is from February end to end of May and then in September and October. The best time to start from any place is early in the morning say by 6 to 7 am. Our journey was very adventures and comfortable. 85% roads were very good except some places. The total cost including every thing i.e. diesel, food, hotel charges, sight seeing, entry tickets, toll taxes and permit, road and entry taxes in Nepal, say every thing, was Rs. 52,500/- per head for 20 days/ 19 nights. It was a wonderful experience in our age.
