The only way to reach Manali
People travelling to Manali from Delhi have only option to reach by bus. Several private and govt buses are operated daily for comfortable journey people choose overnight Volvo journey. But in our case we did it totally opposite we took ordinary bus in early morning from Kashmiri Gate Bus Terminal Delhi. It was the month of July and weather was quite supportable. Cloudy sky and blowing cool winds helped us enthusiastically. Bus took its first stop at Karnal for breakfast. Like all other co travelers we had Paratha chhole and curd which was Rs80 per plate containing two parathas. For further journey I took hing goli from there. Our next stop was the beautiful city Chandigarh Sector 43 bus stand where all govt buses take halt of thirty minutes. So after the thirty minutes bus took the road towards Manali via Bilaspur and Mandi. After one or one and half hour bus took a halt near Anandpur Sahib for lunch. The dhaba name I do remember was The Himalayan Dhaba, they really served good food. I had Dal makkhni and roti and now bus was ready to climb mountains. After few hours dusk came and view was really mesmerizing. The cloudy sky was really gave a scenic view from my window seat. Sometime I was able to touch clouds from hands out the window. The evening was almost dark when we reached Mandi. Bus staff said still we have 3 hours to travel. Now we were getting tired and the darkness outside interrupted the outside view. So we were almost sleepy the nxt stop was Kullu and from there bus took one and half hour to reach Manali. So we were there around 10.30pm and drizzling was on show. We walked through the steeps reached out Hotel Apple Nest and I had hot milk and went to bed.

An awesome journey
Due to foggy weather, our flight was delayed. So we missed our private volvo from Delhi. We have no option than to go to ISBT, Delhi and catch HTDC (Himachal state depo.) bus. The bus was ordinary, Non-AC 3*2 seating. But the journey was awesome. You can take this option.

A comfortable journey
It's a semi sleeper, AC Bus, Comfortable seat, they provide water & blankets and there are enough rest stops during the journey. A MP-5 attached to each seat of the bus & we have enjoyed that by playing so many movies & TV programs etc. Its a ne adventurous road trip to Manali.

Be careful while driving in the hills
Roads till Chandigarh are silky smooth but after Chandigarh the roads start meandering. You have to be careful while driving in the hills. The trip on your own car takes generally 15-16 hours but it's better than travelling in a bus. Thankfully the roads to Manali have been broadened and the drive has become a lot easier than the old days.

Bad bus operator and had worst travel experience
I thought Government buses would be unsafe so made a booking through Makemytrip. Com in Monal Travels Volvo bus from Rs. 2000 for both. Initially for boarding the luggage itself the helper of the bus took Rs 10/- for each luggage from us. Later in bus our seat numbers was changed with some mere reasons as online booking system is faulty to the greater dismay the bus met with an accident in Punjab. The accident was entirely due to the drivers fault I heard the fellow passengers say that since I just woke up as I heard the bang of the bus. I lost my purse with Rs. 5000 in it, still now I haven't got any contacts from the travels side even tough I had given my contact number to them and asked just to return back my PAN card at least. Thanks god it happened in Punjab not in any of those hilly areas. Initially we were all terrified at those moments thanks to the kindness and hospitality shown by the Police person there and their rescue operations. Unless we could have suffered even more. My question is why these services can't hire good drivers for these kind of risky long travels. Is Monal Travels can't get a good driver for this fare they can even charge more and provide us a safe journey. At last our honeymoon trip ended up as a horrible trip with visit to hospital at midnight for first aid. Still the travels haven't even asked sorry through a mail for this incident. Is there any way I can sue the travels for risk to our lives caused, our injuries and the troubles we faced?
