Excellent journey with lots of home food

The AC was working properly and bedding provided was clean too. There was no disturbance after closing the curtains. We always take home food while travelling. Stick to home food instead of buying things at the stations as it may not be always safe. The toilets were clean and made the journey comfortable. Toy train ride from Kalka to Shimla was equally enjoyable. Food given on the toy train was of good quality. Compartments were clean and the seating was good too.

Drive carefully on NH routes

This time I prefer to go by my own car to my second Shimla trip. Overall it is a good experience to go to a place like Shimla by car. Road are good enough, once we cross Delhi border, our journey become so smooth. We almost enjoyed the every moment, appraising nature\'s beauty, capturing every beauty of nature in our camera. We basically follow the route of Grand Trunk Road then Ambala Chandigarh Expressway and then took a route on NH-22. From there we passed some ashrams, temples and finally NH-88, some more roads and then finally reached Shimla. It’s all highways, so my advice is to drive carefully, if you are going with friends rotate driving seat. Never ever drink while driving, better to take some hotels and then start the journey the next day, if there is big need of drinking and all that.

Roadways are speedy ones

Travel experience by bus was good as we were in a group of 6. We booked the tickets for Himachal Roadways. As one of our friend had problem travelling in AC so we chose non AC bus. The bus departed on time from ISBT Kashmiri Gate stand and speed of the bus was good as compared to Volvo ones. Seats however were not so comfortable as compared to Volvo but we didn\'t wanted to rest and went all way talking, eating and singing.

A very tiring journey

We had a journey of about 12 hours. It was a very tiring journey. It was an ac volvo. I had very comfortable and good seats indeed. The bus was not at all congested. It is an request to the travelers that please carry something to eat in the bus as the restaurants at which the bus stop are not very hygienic.

Car travel was good

Car was neatly maintained. AC was chill enough. Driver was prompt but kept us bit hurrying all the time. Car travel was good but the roads were not proper at some places and the driver kept on smoking at regular intervals. Other than that it was a nice journey.
