We took a car from Guwahati. On road to Tawang we took two halts at Bhalukpong and Dirang. Tou have to pass through Sela Pass, Height 13700 ft. Climate remains cold to very cold here. For going to Raunchily you have to take Inner Line Permit. For going to Bumla Pass from Tawang you required special permission from Tawang. Road condition is not good due to frequent landslide.

From Guwahati Airport we took our car for Tawang. We stayed our first night in Bhalukpong and second night in Dirang on the way towards Tawang. The journey of third day i.e. from Dirang to Tawang was one of the best journey that I have travelled. We have crossed totally frozen sela pass and Sela Lake. The temperature was around 4 and we were blown away by chilling wind. The white snow was everywhere in the road. Just awesome.

I really did had one of my best journey's here in Arunachal Pradesh. The snow clad mountains, the Indian Army camp, hot tea in Sela Pass, the glorious story of rifleman. Jaswant Singh sacrifice for his country, lunch in jung, Ani Gompa, the Buddhist culture, the yak cheese, the psydo-boosting of some Indian tourist comparing Tawang and downgrading lovely and friendly people there, drinks in the cold evening with the electric heater in the room. Lovely and beautifully dressed monpa ladies. I am planning to go next year again but want to stay there in zimithang.

From Guwahati to Tezpur, route was fine. But as we entered Arunachal the roads were worse and it worsen up as we progressed. Car broke down many a times as small glass, iron etc were spread everywhere on the road. The road from Sesa to Bomdilla was ok but from Bomdilla to Tawang its a nightmare.

The only bus service available to Tawang is Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC). No option other than this but the best part is you will enjoy every second of your journey after you enter this amazing place which will make you forget about the tiresome journey and the scenic beauty will refresh you with its fresh air. On the way to Tawang you will come across many waterfalls which are worth watching and best place to click some photo.
