The flight was an ATR, the food they served was pathetic and very less in quantity when compared to the price I paid for the ticket. They threw my bag upside down despite of the fact that I got it tagged fragile.
As I mentioned, In Jet even if the upper class is empty and was ready to pay for the difference the crew did not have any authority to such upgrade, a business loss I see there as the crew can sell other products this could have possible.
This trip was from Pune to Puducherry roundtrip on two airlines:Spice Jet and Indigo. I travel with one small backpack and wear a large travel vest for extra bulky items. I fly a dozen times a year and have NEVER had an issue with the travel vest. On Spice Jet leg of my return from Pondicherry (where there are no self check in kiosks), the counter agent made me include my vest in the carryon weight which put me over the 7kg allowance. He insisted I check in my backpack containing a Macbook Air, Canon camera and lenses and Swarovski binoculars. I was not about to subject 3 Lak worth of gear to Spice Jet hands, sorry. So after 20 minutes of yelling and screaming, they allowed me to stuff the vest into a nylon bag (lucky for me I had it-or I would have had to throw possessions into the trash) and check-all of 2kg worth. When I got to Banglore, I simply went to Indigo self check-in kiosk, printed my own boarding pass and flew back to Pune without issues. The sorry thing is Spice Jet allows free 15kg checked bag. So I was harassed, threatened with refusing to board me and generally made miserable over 2 kg that were allowed on the outgoing flight. This guy was a complete A-hole. I will never, ever, fly Spice Jet again-I'd rather walk. Thanks for listening.
