Last few kilometres to Saputara are bad

4.50/7

Roads become very bad as Saputara gets closer otherwise good. The route from Mumbai to Nasik is very well maintained and roads are clean and smooth. However once you cross Nasik the roads are very bad and closer you get to Saputara roads become very uneven and rocky. However we did not face much problem and enjoyed the journey by car.

Nice relaxing drive to Saputara from Mumbai

6.00/7

We started at 9 a. m from Navi Mumbai and took the Nashik Highway. Road was absolutely smooth. While crossing Bhiwandi area on the NH, there was a trailer which had met with an accident and both side roads were blocked. Spent about 2 hours in the jam before proceeding. But once we crossed the accident spot, the drive was a breeze as we had left all trucks behind and road ahead was empty. Kasara ghat before Nashik has one way traffic and there is no oncoming traffic, so we maintained good speed. In Nashik there is a long elevated flyover over the city which takes you across to the other end. There are no clear markings on where to turn left for Saputara. After coming down from the flyover we asked an auto wallah on a crossing where we should turn and he said "this very turning". It was just after a temple on a roadside. The narrow road joins another road after a few kilometres where we turned right and proceeded straight to Saputara. From Nashik the road does not have divider, but still it is a nicely laid road, barring a few rough patches which are negligible. Entire journey took 6 1/2 hours including 2 hour stoppage in jam. On way we stopped in a vineyard which are aplenty on both sides of road and there are some shacks selling Draksh which are quite cheap as compared to city prices. They will negotiate but not much. We bought at the rate of Rs 120 for half Kilo. All in all a relaxing drive without too much traffic.

Good road except for some stretch

5.00/7

We travelled in our own car. Basically a normal drive without any hurdles. Best time is to start in the morning, but we left only in the afternoon. This route skips all of Nashik as it goes over the flyover to bypass Nashik. No hurdles on the journey, its about a 5 hours drive if you go non stop.

Excellent road till Nasik and then average

6.00/7

We started from Borivali at 6. 15 in morning and via Ghodbunder road reached kapurbawadi and from there took a flyover connecting directly to nasik highway. On way we had breakfast at Hotel Udipi after padgha. It is South-Indian restaurant which serves only Veg food. We reached nasik at 11. 00 and then travelled to Saptashrungi, Vani, visited Temple and then travelled to Saputara. Nasik to Vani and Vani to Saputara roads are average and some places road double laning work is going on ( between Nasik to Vani).

Good Experience: I Will Remember For Life!

6.00/7

If you travel by road, take the Mumbai Nashik Highway; it is good. Everything is perfect with neat and clean road. With all the facilities available on the way,you can have a good journey. Good Food available at Dhabas, and eating joints on the way; you can have a good time. Avoid traveling on CNG as there are no filling station available; LPG station are also very few.
