We went on a honeymoon trip from Bangalore to Chandigarh, Shimla, Kullu, Manali, Delhi, Agra - back to Bangalore. I will focus only on one place in this review. For those travelling from Bangalore to Shimla-Manali trip, Chandigarh is the best option, rather than Delhi, because Delhi is a good 400km from Shimla, and Chandigarh to Shimla is 120km. Based on my experience if you have a sightseeing itinerary, its better to avoid long overnight journeys as much as possible (unless your journey involves sightseeing). We reached Shimla in 4 hours, but I booked a hotel away from Shimla. Shimla is an overcrowded town with nothing great to see. So I decided to go a little away from Shimla to enjoy the serenity of nature. I found a place called Tattapani (70km from Shimla). Its an ideal place for anybody looking for peaceful stay and a great hotel experience. The serene lush green landscape is worth every pain we had taken to reach there. (The curvy roads are a pain to drive). After 3 hours of driving on isolated roads with full of twists and turns on the high mountains, finally we reached Tattapani. The hotel Hot Spring tattapani arranges all the fun activities if you are planning for, like river rafting, hiking, trekking etc. I enjoyed the view from hotel, the food, and swimming pools so much that I hardly ventured out for three days. Just one afternoon we went for river rafting. A tip for Honeymooners: Choose a place like Tattapani for your honeymoon, and minimize the sightseeing and adventure lists in your itinerary. Spend more time inside hotel, in restaurants, in the pools, on the balcony with a view, along the river taking a stroll, or on the hill top enjoying the evening breeze, and then it truly becomes a TRIP OF A LIFETIME! Happy touring.
It was an awesome journey to Shimla. We all with our family boarded the flight on 24th October. After two and half hours of journey we landed safely at Shimla Airport. The flight was on time and the flight air-hostess were also good. Thought the flight was early in the morning we were able to reach on time at the Airport.
IndiGo offers very good service at a great price. We were extremely pleased with the overall experience. I truly liked Bangalore International Airport as compared to New Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport. Good flight and very friendly staff. We will prefer Indigo for my future travels.
The aircraft were on time and the rates were affordable. The air hostess was friendly and helpful. The morning is the best time to be there. The security checks are reasonable. The service was excellent. Food was fresh and tasty. Takeoff and landing was done in a nice way.
We were excited in the flight, thinking all about Shimla. Had a non veg meal of average quality. Most of the time just talking about the places we were going for sightseeing and activities.
After the flight, travelled to Kalki from Delhi. And then, The toy train from Kalki to Shimla was one my first as such experience and believe me the best to remember till date. It was chill and little drizzle of rain. Cool breeze. What else you want. Would surely like to experience the train journey again.
