When you travel from Trivandrum to Kanyakumari by State Highway 66, after Parasaala look on the left side for Uday Surya. We stopped there for breakfast on 26th April 2017. The farnchise establishment has got all space on the earth. Fabulous parking, spacious dining and even the washroom is so big. Food was very tastey. We had iddly, dosa and usual coffee and tea. The flavour of sambar sill linger in my mouth. The coconut chutney was so wonderful. Those who love oddly and dosa please make it a point to taste it at Udya Surya. The rates are reasonable. I wished to have lunch there on our return trip but we went via Poovar-Kovalam and missed the opportunity. This route is best if you wish to visit Padmanabhapuram Place. Start at seven from Trivandrum, have breakfast at Uday Surya, reach Padmanabhapuram Palace by 10 and Kanniyakumari by afternoon.
It took us over 3 hours to reach given that we had stopped for Lunch - South Indian thali with lovely fried fish & RASAM, Loved it!!
Also we had the juicy and delicious Targulas - small tender version of coconuts, found in summers and in plenty here.
This route has:
Salem - Kochi - Kanyakumari Hwy

It was a memorable journey for us. It was a pleasure trip. The railway station was good. The climate was good when we visited. The toilets were clean. The travellers were friendly. The food were good. Kanyakumari is a calm and quiet place which is good for relaxing.
