Best of the East

Howrah Railway Station is the prime railway station of the east. You can find a train from here to anywhere in the country. Pretty accessible from all parts of the city as buses run from Howrah to everywhere and back. The food plaza here offers very good food at cheap prices.

Milestone of Indian developments

It is the busiest railway station in India, which has 23 numbers of platforms, the highest figure among railway platforms in India. One to fifteen is allotted for Eastern Railway and sixteen to twenty-three is allotted for South Eastern Railway. For passengers, it has an enormous covered waiting area and all kinds of amenities and facilities are available there. This station started the first 'Rajdhani Express' service to New Delhi in 1969.
