Must Visit Temple

Idagunji is a place which is 10kms away from Murideshwar. Road to Ganapati temple is twisty, curvy, narrow road. Be cautious when driving. Temple is well isolated from crowd. Temple is calm though there will be crowd. There is huge parking area for Buses and cars. Photography is not allowed in the temple premises. No hotels, no foods available for purchase. I didn't find even water bottles to buy. There are many stalls where you can buy some stuffs for memories. Taste Pineapples which are sold in one or two stalls.Do not miss visiting this temple if you are visiting Murudeshwar.

Nice temple surroundings

Sandwiched between the sea and a river, this beach is home to the giant Shiva statue. Although water sports are not available here, tourists indulge in swimming, and a calm walk on the beach.A beautiful stretch of green lawns, this area along around the 15m tall statue of Shiva houses various flowering plants, stone sculptures as well as small ponds inhabited by ducks. The artificial waterfall rushing down over the boulders is a splendid view.

One of the Oldest Temples in Karnataka

Very good religious place to visit with the family. Lord Ganesha's idol in this temple is one of its kind. Travellers can avail the facility of free food (lunch) which is provided at the temple. It is very near to Murudeshwar and to Honnavar (nearest town).

Good temple experience

One of the oldest temple with in the forest area. The only issue I faced is transportation; it was frustrating.

Just 17km from Murudeshwar

Idagunji is only 17 kilometers from Murudeshwara and 5kms from Honawara. As I stayed a day in Murudeshwara, I visited Idagunji Ganesha temple at evening, it did not take much time for me from here. Just 17kms from the highway, take a right turn. Lord Ganesha was different here, where the archakas poured holy water for Abhisheka to Lord.
