    A beautiful old temple

Jalakandeswarar temple is inside Vellore fort. From the main road one has to walk down few steps to enter the temple. At the entrance is 7 level towers (Gopuram) with beautiful sculptures. As soon as you enter the temple there is an idol of Lord Ganesha and to the left side is the Kalyana mandapam (Sabha mandapam). The mandapam with its beautifully sculptured pillars is amazing. The main deity in the temple is Lord Shiva. After darshan, once we come to the Prakhara you find the shrines of Lord Nataraja, Lord Subramanya, and Goddess Akhilandeswari. Prasadam is sold near the entrance for the devotees. This is a nice temple to visit.
