Kamtha is a village, which once served as the administrative headquarters to Kamtha Zamindaris, and is thus regarded as a place of historical significance. The village is also famous for its Shiva temple that was constructed by Sant Lahiri Baba. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is built in linga pattern, which is accompanied by the statue of Nandi. The temple is thronged by devotees during the celebrations of Guru Purnima.
