Lonely Place

I went to Kangra fort. It's a very lonely place.. You would not see so many people around. If you love to go to a fort or some historic monuments only then visit this place.Carry an umbrella and a water bottle.Fee is only Rs. 10 or 15.

Kangra fort ... Remainants speak louder of its grandeur

Kangra fort is situated at top of hill .. Surrounded by deep valley and thick stone wall capable of horse and artillery movement during war I. E why Kangra could never be conquered . . As nothing much od done to preserve the fort it is decaying with time ... Take a walkman guide at entrance which will guide you to whole palace ... Great palace but maintainable from authorities

Must visit place if weather is in your favour

Kangra fort situated in Kangra district is a most attractive place to visit. You will get a long history attached to that place which will be told by the guide at the said place. You need lots of free time to give a deep look on inside and outside views.

Heritage Kangra Fort

Heritage Kangra Fort - Must visit for its historic values in Kangra. It's on the hilltop and well-maintained with Jain Temple of the first Tirthankara - Lord Adinath / Adeshwar Bhagwan. The only Jain Tirth place in Himachal Pradesh.

Have a marvelous view

Its just amazing, you have to climb around 1 km to reach on the top of the fort. Then you can have marvelous view on hills and river flowing beside the fort. You can find many couples too.

Good historic place during winter

It is very special to visit such a historic palace. If you are going in winter, it is good to enjoy the winter of Dharamshala. It is always a pleasure to watch such historic things. If you are going in winter then you have to take proper clothes because it is too chilly condition there.

Remains of an old dynasty

Kangra Fort is the remains of the fort and palace of erstwhile ruling family of Kangra. The re is nothing of palace let at present. Everything was destroyed in earthquakes. The fort offers great views of the valley. The museum in the fort complex is a waste of time. One should visit the private museum of the royal family, adjoining the complex. This still has some collection, nothing great though.
