Kappad Beach - Clean beach and worth spending the time

A wide landscape by the sea with very thin populace, I found this worth spending a morning or evening. The beach is excellently maintained, neat and clean, situated in a suburb. Public transports are rare and occasionally, govt. Public buses could be seen. Two resorts, one with the best location and view is " Kappad Beach Resort" and the new one is, " Vasco Da Gama Beach Resort", which is just 200 metres away from the sea waters, but has picturesque greenery, horticulture around, but a costly restaurant ( roti= 25, matar-paneer= 280+ tax) Drinking water after initial 2 free bottles, to be purchased or outsourced. At the way, to this Vasco Da Gama hotel, there is a police outpost and beside this outpost exists a small hut-like eatery, serving a staple local type lunch, ( consisting of local oval shaped thick rice, sambhar dal, papad, curd-milk, achaar), but by evening this joint is shut down. I saw one snack-bar on the beachside upper road selling hot beverages, snacks, non veg -snacks.

Amazing experience of seeing historical beach

Do you want to visit a historical beach? , then Kappad is the right place for you. Kappad is a famous beach in Calicut, India where the Portugese explorer Vasco Da Gama landed on 1948 whose voyage established a sea route from the Europe to India. It is a clean beach and it has a beautiful park.

One of the attractive beaches in Kerala

Nice and awesome experience here in Kappad beach, it feels like one of the old movie scenes. Very natural, best time to visit would be in the evening. Try avoiding visit in the rainy season.

Must visit beach

The beach is a must visit in Calicut. The beach is neat and near to the Railway Station. Local snacks are available on the beach. Fruits immersed in salt water tastes good.

The best beach on the Malabar Coast

Kappad Beach with a lot of history to write and say it is a beautiful beach and after the facelift, it is one of the sort-after tourist spot near Kozhikode. Vasco Da Gama, the Portuguese explorer is believed to have landed here in AD 1498 which paved the way for establishing a sea route from to India. I love this beach because the sea is not very rough, rather tranquil, the local people are very friendly and above all the beach is not very crowded too. The corniche, small park and rest room which were completed last year is a blessing to the visitors. The beach is not ideal to spent time during June and July being the Monsoon season but after the monsoon season the beach will be clean and one can just spend time, watch sunset etc. Seeing the local people including kids swimming in the sea, it is not advisable to follow them unless you are a good swimmer and know about the undercurrents of the sea here.
