Absolute peaceful

Visit was worth a while, you do get a bus for travel to Kateel. Ideal time to visit I would say is rains where you can witness the running stream besides the temple. Its said that newly weds should visit the temple, also they sell some bangles outside temple for the newly wedded bride. You have a restaurant close by.

An ancient temple dedicated to Durgaparameswari.

This is an ancient temple. We went during Navaratri festival. So there were celebrations in progress. The temple is clean and serene. It is open from 06. 00 AM to 10. 00PM for devotees. On special occasions like Navaratri festival it is open even up to midnight. It has an interesting Puranic story about how it came in to existence. The temple website describes the same in detail. It is worth visiting for th devout. It is at a distance of about 26 KM from Mangalore.

The way to reach is picturesque

The drive to Kateel is through many farms. It is very picturesque. Many varieties of birds are seen. Few temples on hillocks are seen. The pepper creepers on the trees are beautiful.
