Ghat of Banaras

Like all other ghats, the Kedar ghat is one of the famous ghat in Varanasi. Just on the row and few steps away from Dashaswamedh Ghat. The second crowded ghat after Dashaswamedh Ghat. The ghat is just adjacent to Vijyanagram Ghat. You will find a bulk of south indian devotees. You can worship also in temples on stairs after hing Bath.

One of the Best Ghats to take a dip in Ganga

If you wish to wash away your sins by taking a bath in Holy Ganga, but are very reluctant about bodies being cremated near the ghats, then Kedar Ghat is the best option. This ghat is quite far from the Manikarnika Ghat, which is widely used for body cremations. The stairs/steps on this ghat are quite wide and big to sit and have a bath safely. The ghat just next to Kedar Ghat is dedicated for Yoga learning and practicing, so after having a bath at Kedar Ghat, you can peacefully meditate.

Popular for the holy dip

Visit Kedar Ghat, one of the very beautiful ghats of Benaras early in the morning. Devotees come to this ghat to bathe in the holy waters of the Ganges. It is a very vibrant and photogenic place and a must visit for photography enthusiasts. Coming to Benaras and not capturing the charm of Kedar Ghat would be a miss.

Important ghat

This Ghat is very important in Varanasi. There are many people bathing and do pooja. There is most beautiful Ghat of Ganga river. Stair is danger because it is very straight so be careful while going up and down. It is good and very sacred Hindu religion place.

Needs more maintenance and management

The temple is worth visiting. Presence of lord Shiva is felt there. But the temple is not well managed as BABA Somnath. The lanes towards temple are much crowded. There is no proper arrangements of lockers for keeping the luggage, as the cameras, bags and mobile phones are restricted. You have to keep these things with the shopkeepers there and in turn you have to buy prashad from them.
