Kihim and beyond

The stretch beyond Kihim can be breathtaking when visited at the correct hour. Few places around Mumbai that have managed to retain their rustic charm. This stretch is definitely one them. Best time to visit would be now, full moon nights in winters are to live for. Add the loud silence of Nagaon beach and it becomes eerily beautiful. Big burly men accompanying you will help in security.

Mini Goa

Want break for a Day, then there is mini Goa is waiting for you. Kihim Beach is situated in Alibag. You can visit there by road i.e 2 hrs journey from Panvel. But my preference goes to travel by sea. Take a ferry ride from Bhaucha Dhakka i.e Dockyard and enjoy sea travel for 1 hr. Best season to visit Kihim is from Oct to May. In Monsoon season sea travel kept closed due to safety issues. At Kihim you can enjoy water sports and delicious sea food. Fun is unlimited at sea.

A nice beach with lots of activities

This is relatively a small beach in the Alibag vicinity. The beach is clean however the water isn't lots of dark sand. There are lots of activities though, horse rides, tanga rides, a parachute ride drawn by a jeep and some water sport the banana ride etc. An hour or two can be easily spent on the beach.

Calm & clean beach

It is good if you are coming from Mumbai by Ferry, its on the way. You can get ferry from the Gateway of India to Mandwa in the same ticket; the bus will drop you near Kihim Beach. Not much activities on the beach, but it is clean and tidy. You can have a good time.

Rocky but clean beach

Kihim beach is little rocky but nice beach. In past it was a dirty beach but nowadays some people are hired for cleaning the beach on Saturday and Sunday. Kihim beach now offers water sports and para-sailing.There are many small homely resorts near Kihim beach to stay. You can enjoy bhel, nariyalpani on the beach. In evening it is the best place for sitting in white sand and to watch beautiful sunset.

Kihim Beach

It's a clean beach, less crowded, with pine trees on the shore.
