Lachman Jhoola Overview

Ranked 7 of 12 sightseeing in Patiala
Lachman Jhoola is a beautiful suspension bridge built across a small artificial lake in Patiala. It is a replica of the famous Lakshman Jhoola at Rishikesh.
Lachman Jhoola actually links the Sheesh Mahal or the Palace of Mirrors with the Banasar Ghar which is a repository for stuffed animals. The bridge is a wonder by its construction. It is exciting to feel the bounce and the breeze standing at the middle of the jhoola overlooking the lake waters below.
The Sheesh Mahal and Banasar Ghar have a museum, an art gallery, a medal gallery, a hall for setting up exhibitions and also the North Zone Cultural Centre. Apart from these, Qila Mubarak Complex, Moti Bagh Palace, Mall Road, Rajindera Kothi, Baradari Gardens, Gurudwara Dukhniwaran Sahib, Kali Temple, Bir Moti Bagh and Dhillon's Fun world are other must see places at Patiala.
The best season to come here is from October to March when the climate is most pleasant. Patiala is well connected by road and rail as it lies off the National highway No.1 and is a major stop for many trains. One can hire a taxi or auto rickshaw to arrive at Lachman Jhoola.
