Ranked 4 of 31 sightseeing in Mussoorie

Lal Tibba, the highest point in Mussoorie is situated in Landour area, which is the oldest populated place in the destination. The site was also referred to as a Depot Hill, due to the presence of depot in the region.

The hill houses a camp of The Indian Military services and Broadcasting stations or towers of All India Radio and Doordarshan. The beautiful views of sunrise and sunset from this vantage point can also be seen by travellers visiting Lal Tibba.

In 1967, a Japanese telescope was placed at the tower on a cliff by municipality to offer beautiful views of adjoining places to the travellers. Tourists can have beautiful views of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Banderpunch and other Himalyan ranges from this telescope.

Apart from this, tourists can have a glimpse of some old buildings and houses, which are constructed in British architectural style.

All tibba: a walk to it to feel the part of nature

When you reach there after walking up the hills, it feels like if there is any satisfaction after doing toil, then its only here. The mountains and the environment will give you so much peace that you can feel the nature in you.

Lalo Tibba on 27th July

It was misty throughout the morning and I was about to cancel this sightseeing option. Hired car for the whole day and went to all places. Around 5 PM saw that the cloud cover is clearing hence asked driver to take us there. And it was a wise decision. Got great views of mountains and blue sky. Had refreshment and returned. It was pretty cold. Better to put on jacket if visiting after 4pm. Washroom available. The road to tibba was steep and risky at times because of heavy downpour.

Peak Point

The temperatures really come tremendously down at Lal Tibba and is a good location especially at sunrise and sunset both. With just one small local restaurant and no washroom facilities up there.

Adventurous drive

Very steep and narrow road goes to Lal tibba. Need a powerful vehicle and a very expert driver to reach. The view from the top is not so great. The mall has better views. Only reason to go would be if you want a risky drive up the mountain.

Wow place amidst hustle bustle of chaotic Mussoorie

Lal Tibba, the char dukaan place. Offers sumptuous delicacies, pancakes, maggi eggs. Perfect to suit the environment. Momos, lemon tea cafe ivy is a new eating hangout added to the list. Making it merrier, wow place. Perfect to shoot those lovely moments, they have a beautiful corner. Loved the place.

Nice view of Himalayas and Valley

It's a point the point from where you can get a good view of the Himalayas and the Valley. It's simple but well-maintained trek. Road to reach Lal Tibba is very narrow so avoid self driving.
