I love The Lalit Grand Palace, Srinagar, and quite enjoy staying there. The hotel is nothing short of a palace. We loved our stay there. The location of the hotel is convenient and central. It is located just opposite to the Dal lake. The staff was friendly and courteous. The room was spacious, neat and well maintained. The housekeeping service was excellent. Overall, a great hotel for staying in Srinagar.
The Lalit is majestic, and pricey. However, the hotel and it's grounds do make it an experience worth remembering. Our family stayed two nights and we spent most of our time indoors. The gardens are really vast and pretty and will be prettier in full bloom. We stayed in a first-floor room in the new wing, and it was spacious and comfortable. The windows looked out to the lawns. We had dinner in our room on both nights and while the food was extremely pricey, it was also tasty and the quantities were good. The hotel offers a tour of their property, the heritage wing is nice. We also tried the Dale Bar, had two cocktails, thought the mojito was better. Both drinks were extremely expensive but I don't think there is any other hotel with a bar in Srinagar. I also got a massage at the Rejuve Spa - while pricey, again, it was well worth it. All in all, an excellent experience.
Had an amazing stay in this beautiful property. Excellent breakfast. Beautiful landscapes. Hospitality is commendable. Everything about this property is a royal epiphany. From the moment you see the majestic lion statues and embark on the long majestic path to the palace, you know you are at a very special place. The photos do not do justice to the palace one bit. The palace boasts of decades and decades of rich history. The hotel will take you for the most exciting and explanatory royal tour which will cover all of it. However, the most coveted memories we hold of this place is of the exemplary service we received.
The beautiful sprawling property with views of Dale Lake offers the best of Kashmir. From the shade of the chinars and juicy apples from the hotel's orchard to uninterrupted views and Kashmiri wazwan delicacies, the experience offers the best of Kashmir. The staff is caring and jovial and make sure to look into little details that will make your stay here comfortable and pleasant.
When you just step in to the hotel you feel like you are treated as a Royalty. No matter if you are on business or holiday. The best part of this hotel is fantastic lobby, wonderful staff and ground floor rooms have balconies opens to the huge lawns! Try to get a room with garden view, you will feel like you are in another world.
I had been to Srinagar during the month of July 2016 and booked the room in the Lalit Grand Palace The. It was my holiday trip with family. I would rate the destination as average. The hotel location was average. I would rate the appearance of the hotel as very good. I would rate the front desk staff as average. I booked this room through online. The house keeping services in the hotel were very good but need to extend the availability. The rooms at the hotel were average. I would rate food as good because of taste and price is not high.
Went with family and stayed for 3 nights. First 2 nights in a super deluxe room and then 1 night in Cottage with 2 bedrooms. Some excellent service by all the hotel staff. Waiters at the restaurants and bar were friendly and always available to help and take your orders. Buffet breakfast was tasty and had lots of variety. Had a chance to take buffet dinner as well which was also good. Taken a Chocolate cake from the cake shop which was average. Hotel is huge and has lots of activities like billiards, swings, video games, etc. Plus a huge garden in front from where can have a good view of Dale lake. Heated swimming pool and the Spa is an added advantage which I believe the only Hotel in Srinagar having. WiFi is not complementary in the rooms though 1 hour complimentary is available in the lobby. Overall an excellent holiday stay and would love to stay again if visit Srinagar.
I have stayed in this hotel for around 4 days on a holiday. The hotel was basically a Palace which got converted into a hotel. The hotel is clean, although the lobby was a kind of dull . . The rooms are big and clean, and have all the basic amenities you require. But I was kind of let down by the lighting as the combination of lighting inside rooms along with the floor texture, rendered a very dull and dusty kind of look, although the rooms were very clean. Bathroom is okay size compared to the room size, but comes with a bathtub. Coming to the food, well I didn't order a-la chart, so can't talk about it, but the dinner was totally waste. They charge you Rs. 1800 per person, but the food was not even worth Rs. 100 Avoid it! Instead go to Krishna Dhaba, its much better. For the breakfast, well its completely opposite of dinner, and I mean it, you don't want to avoid it at all. Staff is very courteous and you will feel like a "raja". A very beautiful garden with Dale Lake in the backdrop can be enjoyed during the summers Overall I would rate my experience there as good, but I have heard from many people including my father that the Vivanta by Taj was better Room Tip: Try to get the room with windows overlooking the Dale lake, it definitely adds to the aesthetics.
Hotel location was convenient. I did not face any difficulty to find this hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Services were fast and on time. It was a five-star hotel. Inside and outside look of the hotel was beautiful. Rooms were neat, clean, well maintained and spacious. All basic amenities were available in the room like TV, AC, geyser, WiFi connection, etc. Garden view was visible from the room. I had food inside the hotel and it was tasty. Buffet system was available there. Check-in and check out facility was not delayed. I went there for sightseeing. Hotel arranged cab facility for sightseeing trip. Hotel was value for money. Many activities were available in the hotel like swimming pool, gym, I will recommend this hotel to other travellers. I had gone there with my family.
