I visited Coorg during the monsoons. Coorg is at its beautiful best in the monsoons. Had travelled to Coorg and the hotel by bus. The hotel website has pretty clear directions The homestay is nestled between paddy fields and has a beautiful view. The homestay has two types of accommodation - family rooms and mud cottages. I took the mud cottage and it was a beautiful experience. They have recliners outside the mud cottage where you can sit, have a cup of coffee and read a book as it rains. They have a small book collection if you are not carrying your own book. Then they also have chess, carrom and other board games Coming to food - everything I ate there was new for me and absolutely mind blowing. I have a pretty flexible pallette and enjoy trying new cuisines. They serve authentic Coorg cuisine (both veg and non veg) and serve oodles of food. Your stomach will burst by eating all the food but your heart still won't be content. Nevertheless pork is their specialty. Infact pork dishes are a Coorgi specialty As far as activities go, we went on little hiking trails in the nearby area. Could not do any other activity such as waterfall rappelling since it was monsoon time
We stayed in a private home stay. It was a good timing. We enjoyed the stay. It was a very nice stay. They provided food and all. Everything was good. It was away from the main city. It was a quiet stay there. We had taken our own vehicle. We had two big rooms and it almost like a cottage type. It is just known person that the only thing so I do not want to tell more about. Hot water, geyser, neat and clean bed sheets were available in the rooms. Wi-Fi facility was not there but otherwise everything was there. Food was very good. We took only veg so we did not know about the non veg. What all varieties they served in veg food that was good. Service of the hotel was very good. In all it was a very nice place. Location of the hotel was good. Look wise or the atmosphere was very good. Reception service was good. It could be recommended to anyone. It was a nice place. I went there with my family.
This destination in the monsoon season is awesome. The entire area was beautiful, especially the top of Talacauvery. The cottage is set in a very idyllic spot with paddy fields around and looking out to small hills.
its the kind of place u see in teenage love stories.. a refuge for a innocent couple escaping from the daddies\' bad world.. its simple and fresh.. stayed there for 5 days and felt like i owned it all. its very private but well serviced. loved the neverending cups of coffee and coorgi food. theres no swimming pool ( :-) ) but there are bikes, books, board games, birds, rain, stars, fruit-trees, candles, campfires, fireflies, cicadas, fields, walks, river, hammocks and everything else to \'do nothing at all\'. oh and lots of coffee too.. :)
We went on this short trip for two nights and came back wanting to linger longer. :) It\'s not any typical place, but a wonderfully relaxing, non-intrusive, be-yourself, do-nothing home. Very well thought-out and executed. The hosts are a friendly, unassuming, and helpful lot. The facilities are comfortable, but yet simple and non-intimidating. The place is accessible, but still private. If you\'re someone who wants relaxation, time to be yourself away from the synthetic world, who likes to hear about and experience new places, languages, environs, food, etc., this is the place for it.
I with my family went to Coorg for the first time. I was astonished to see its awesomeness. I can\'t forget my experience staying at Linger! It is located in a very cool place with a superb garden and rain-harvesting well around it! Beauty of this resort is its old-fashioned look filled with lights of Lanterns and Candles at night!
We stayed there for 2 days and had a fantastic experience! We had plenty to do while we were there! A hike up the hillock nearby and the amazing views there! A 25Km cycling ride on a serene and tranquil route.... with absolutely no one but yellow wagtails to give us company! Bird watching on the hill at 7 in the morning. And not to mention star gazing in the night... It was an awesome experience!
