Old Shiva Temple

Once if you go to Mahabaleshwar near Pune you must see this temple. This is a very good place. Very old temple. This is Shiva temple. One river called Gupt Ganga is also coming from mountain, water is very sweet. Overall good place. The food is available. Small shopping items are also available.

Nice temple but approach road is bit narrow

Road to temple is narrow and a bit tiresome but the temple is very good. Nice and peaceful. There are lot of shopping options available there and food is also not a problem.Should go for darshan if you are in Mahabaleshwar or Panchgani. There are other temples also nearby which are also worth a visit.

Awesome stone architecture

This temple is in the same surroundings of the Shri Kshetra Mahabaleshwar Temple is just 2 minute walking away. As you enter the temple, the first thing that you notice is the Kund with water flowing out from a Gaumukh (cow's mouth). All the temples in the surrounding are built with rock. So the architecture of the temple made it worth the visit. This temple is quite simple in the architecture. As you go inside you will see there are five opening in the wall from which water is coming in and a board is placed with the river names. We were doubtful about the source of water so we just went behind the temple to see if we could spot the river from behind but there was nothing there. But we saw some stairs to go uphill, still no luck the stairs were leading a way to another temple's which were behind the temple. There was caretaker there when enquired about the source of rivers; he told us that there is door inside the temple which leads to view of river inside the temple but now it is closed for visitors.

Peace of mind

It's such a great example for the art of work and construction. Really good temple is situated there. A large flooring with nice passage and attractive lobby. Entrance of the temple is too good. The unique identity of it's temple is it's main hall construction. I am really feeling relaxed during the worship at that temple.

One time watch

It is always a good feeling to see this much old temple. Temperature was also good in Mahabaleshwar. It was around 30 degree in May. In the evening there was very beautiful market. We eat Vada Pav, strawberry Shake. Strawberries are very easy available product there. Overall we enjoyed a lot.

Good one to visit

The name is kept after 5 rivers combine together and become one. Good to visit once, nothing spectacular about the temple. Its ok even if you give it a miss, unless you are here for few days visit this.
