The Maharana Pratap Memorial is dedicated to both Maharana Pratap and his loyal companion Chetak. Situated atop a hill called Moti Magri (Pearl Hill) on the banks of Fateh Sagar, the memorial comprises a life-sized bronze statue of Maharana Pratap balanced on his loyal and favourite horse, Chetak.

Considered a loyal companion by Maharana Pratap, Chetak stood by him till his last breath, before being killed in the battle of Haldighati. Near the hill, the Japanese Rock Garden and the remnants of one of the forts of Udaipur are located.

Nice museum and memorial statue

The memorial is charged with an entry fee of Rs. 50 per person and extra for vehicles. It has a large memorial statue of Maharana Pratap and his faithful Horse Chetak. The Hall of heroes museum has numerous paintings of the Mewar dynasty.

Maharana Pratap : Well-maintained Memorial

Memorial is actually part of a complex, situated on a hill top, providing beautiful birds eye view of surrounding Udaipur city and the lakes. Maharana Pratap's giant black statue, riding on a Horse, is imposing and takes you back into history. Roads and grounds around the monument are well-maintained and visitors feel happy to spend time here.

Awe inspiring memorial

The memorial visit was awe inspiring. A peek into the glorious past of our great heroes who fought for their Independence. The museum was exploratory so was the accompanying commentary, leaving no doubts in our minds about the sequence of events. The artefacts well arranged and the description accurate and helpful.

Must visit - A tribute to the Hero

Very nearby to the Fateh Sagar Lake. It's on the hillock, if you are a fan of Maharana Pratap then you can't miss this place. It also has an old palace besides the memorial place. You can see the city of Udaipur from this place.

Also known as Moti Magri

There is a very beautiful structure of Maharana Pratap out in the open with quite a lot of space and nothing else. Some history about Maharana Pratap might interest some. Apart from this, there's the view of the lake and hills to the right side of the statue.A few meters beyond the statue are the remains of what once was a fort and is now turned into a small temple which is another spot to view the lake.

Heart Rendering and makes your visit worthwhile - Must visit sure.

This place must not be missed and definitely is worth a visit. It is very Heart Rending and the story of Maharana Pratap and the Horse Chetak comes almost live by seeing this memorial. Sculpture of Maharana Pratap on the Chetak and the story sculpted below the monument is very enchanting. The Old Palace which was built half before the City Palace is also a very rare attraction and it is lovely and a pleasure to the eyes.View of Udaipur City from atop the memorial is very attractive and pleasing to the eyes. Most enjoyable and delightful. On the way back there is a museum where lots of Paintings and Kumbhalgarh Fort and Chittorgarh Fort models are kept which is awesome and inspiring me to make up my mind to visit that place during my next visit to Rajasthan.
