45 Kms from Pune, located stop a hill, overlooking the mulshi dam- one finds the Malhar Machi resort. The resort has several rooms, neatly laid out, giving each room a pvt deck to view the mulshi dam and hills that surround it. Packages are inclusive of all meals and food is served in time- piping hot and a rather decent spread across all the meals. Equipped with a swimming pool, games room, the resort has enough and more to keep children and adults engaged. The rains were a perfect time to enjoy nature given that one is a part of the clouds floating by. Certainly a must visit place during the monsoons
Very good ambience. Good food. Nice kids play area. We went to Malhar machi on 24th December 2015 for a day. The musical royal horse ride for high tea was awesome. The Hindi songs karaoke during dinner was too good. Room cleanliness and toiletries were good. Food quality was at par with Taj hotels.
It is one of the best experience me and my spouse had staying here. We were simply amazed by the scenic beauty of this place. Awesome mountain views and greenery everywhere. The rooms and services were really good we have no complaints about any of these. The food was also excellent. Overall I would suggest this to any couple looking for a romantic treat.
My wife and I spent two days in the resort. Its calm and serene, ambience greatly appealed to us. The food was excellent, and the staff are very courteous. The room was spacious and well-kept. We had chosen to stay in a Lake view room, from where we could see the Mulshi Lake. If one is young, one could stay in Bougainvillea cottages, and if one is senior citizen like us should chose the Lake View rooms.
I did my booking through Yatra offers discount. Maharaja rooms are the best which has big balconies with excellent view. Its not a very great property if you are looking at comfort or good services. The Malhar Machi Resort is an awesome hotel in the city in prime location. I like this hotel. I like to stay there. I have stayed there many times.
I had been to this place with my husband on a short weekend trip. Stayed here for one day and night. We started from Pune and drove all the way through Mulshi to this resort. It is tucked away on a hillock near the Mulshi dam. The drive there was very rough as the roads are in a bad condition and very narrow as they pass through many villages. Extremely necessary to have GPS / Google maps with you if driving to this place by self !! Anyways, we arrived at Malhar Machi by noon and were greeted warmly by the front office staff and shown to our room. [*Ask for a room with the view of the lake. Preferably on the first floor. Book a couple of months in advance during monsoon] . . As soon as I entered the room, I went 'oh . My . God'. It was lovely. A huge comfy four poster bed with sheer curtains rested in the middle of the room. The flooring was wood panelled and the ceiling was mesh of wooden beams. Traditional art work reflected everywhere right from the paintings, furniture to the tapestry. The room opened onto a wide balcony which had an unimpeded view of the mulshi lake and dam. The bathroom/toilet was clean and dry and the AC and TV working fine. [*A must on my trips] After freshening up we went for the buffet lunch. It had a lot of variety for vegetarians as well as non vegetarians, complete with chat items and salads. I liked the freshness of water which was infused with lime leaves. The tea later on was a hearty affair too with cookies and sandwiches and hot Upma The whole day we wandered around the resort exploring the nooks and crannies and posing for pics. It was dewy and misty then and I thoroughly enjoyed the romance it lent to the air around us. We also played pool at the indoor games room The final touch was landed by the in house spa, where I went for a foot reflexology. The spa therapies are okay and the ambience not quite appealing but still relaxing We then went for dinner which was good too and then a walk / chat by the pool [*its clean and well maintained] in the chill air. Finally, we retired to the room and had a cozy, cuddly and peaceful sleep. :). Tips. 1) Not advisable to bring along very young children and elders with walking / climbing disability as the trips from resort rooms to/fro to the restaurant involve climbing stairs/slope, which can be slippery during monsoons . 2) Bring your own umbrella if coming during monsoons, so you don't have to wait for one provided by the resort. Also, get essential medical supplies as the place is a bit remote. Slippers/Rubber chappals are advisable to walk around the resort . 3) There is not much to be done in terms of activity except walking and indoor games. Hence, much more ideal for a relaxing and short getaway for couples . 4) The Mobile phone connectivity is not very good in the area and WiFi is only limited to the front office and restaurant.
We visited this resort as a weekend getaway near to Mumbai to spend time with each other away from our busy Mumbai life. We were welcomed very warmly by the manager on our arrival. We had requested for upgrades and didn't mind paying the difference but as the hotel has very few rooms counting approx 20 odd rooms including regular and villas everything was packed. We reached around the lunch time and we were hungry we checked in and were impressed with the room it was absolutely clean and perfect. It was very spacious and had a nice coffee table at one side and also a balcony or more like a outside sitting area as we were on the lower level with an awesome view of the valley and the lake below. The toilet was clean with all toiletries included. We went to the eating area and as we had all meals included we checked the buffet. The spread was good. It had everything soups starters salad main course sweets and desserts. A perfect spread. Food was up-to the mark no complaints in fact very happy. The restaurant staff were also very friendly and warm. Being a small resort with limited rooms they were able to give personalized attention. Resort also includes hi-tea. And I personally loved the place were hi-tea was served. Its like a picnic place. A little in other end of the resort away from the rooms after crossing a rough path at the foot of the hill in lush green surroundings below the trees. There is a temple at one corner and a huge Buddha statue below where there is soft classical music being played live. There is a buggy which has been converted in to a vintage royal car, a horse and a bullock cart for ones to ride. In the evening during dinner in winters the have bonfire and dinner is served in the lawn with live performances. Performance being really nice. The only disappointment that we found was there is no recreational activities except the spa. They have carom board, pool tables but neither of them are in good condition. Even a hiking path but that to is not in condition to hike. But still a place I would recommend to visit just for peace and spend time with your spouse.
Staff and manager behaviour was very politely and friendly. Location of this hotel was convenient. Interior and exterior design of the hotel was good. Room was furnished and maintained. Room amenities were functioning properly. Beautiful view was visible from the room. Food quality was fine I think non-veg food also available there. I got complimentary breakfast by the hotel it was okay. It was my family tour for outing purpose in May month. Parking facility was available in the hotel area. I went there by my own vehicle. Pool activity was available in the hotel and I used it because it was include in my package. I have been recommend this hotel to other tourist.
We went to Malhar Machi for a quick weekend getaway after our anniversary. It was May 16th with temp hitting 40 in Pune. We entered the resort to experience the freshness of the nature, with soothing water sprinklers on the entrance giving a good first impression. The place is near Mulshi dam near Pune. We were greeted by the smiley staff and guided to our room located near pool. The pool was designed in an artistic manner with a small artificial waterfall was heavenly cool when I entered into it. Quite a relaxing experience! Tea was arranged in a nearby place where ride was offered on a bullock cart. Dinner was good especially kebabs. Had a small AC issue in the room, other wise the environment in the room was good. Woodenly noticeable and flooring in rooms was giving an ancient look with carefully crafted wooden bed. Other amenities include recreational activities, pool, etc. Were maintained in fairly good condition. Time to visit is not summer of course, environment will be better in rainy season with greeneries all around.
Malhar Maachi the resort is situated at Mulshi near Pune (Maharashtra) on the top of hill and is the best destination to relax in the natural hill valley view. Really a great experience. The appearance of such resort is very nice and infrastructure is nice. Food is really very delicious. Other activities like indoor games, swimming and gym are well maintained. Parking space is enough and all staff is careful towards the visitor and they provide good room service. The charges for per family are also reasonable .
