Lord Murugan Shrine that blesses the city of Coimbatore

The temple is at hilltop. In order to reach the temple, both motorway and stairs exist. The temple faces the city of Coimbatore. As all temples of South India, it has a gopuram adorned with figures of gods and goddesses. I was fortunate to record a rath yatra (chariot) taken around the temple by some affluent family. The market at the footsteps of temple serves parshad and other eateries. The place is thronged by devotees seeking blessings of Lord Murugan.

Must visit place but unclean

It is a 'must visit' place if you are in Coimbatore as it is easily reachable. It is a great temple placed on a hill with Lord Muruga as main deity. It is a superb walk up to the temple. The view of the surroundings from the temple is spectacular.Offerings and rituals are easily accessible to all devoteeIt definitely should be maintained much better to give good atmosphere for tourists. We visited on 30 Dec in the evening and it was quite crowded. The whole place while climbing to the temple was stinking of urine. Devotees were also passing urine during the climb. There were no dustbins to collect the garbage due to which the whole place was littered by plastic wrappers and papers. Can't the temple authorities provide simple dustbins on the way and also station guards so that the place is not spoil by devotees .? I am sure that with the funds received by temple it can be maintained properly even during rush times also. A big letdown on hygiene and cleanliness.

Temple on a hill

The temple is located on a hill slightly away from the city centre. The temple is relatively small compared to some of the gigantic temples of Tamil Nadu, but is very well maintained and clean. It took us about 30 min to reach at 8. 00AM from Gandhipuram by Ola taxi. We could finish the darshan in about 30 min. A good temple to visit on your trip to Coimbatore. Please remember that the Mobile signal is weak on the hill and hence you may not be able to book Ola. Take the bus provided by the temple with ticket of Rs 10 to go down the hill where the signal is good.

Lord Murugan Temple

I have been visiting this temple from my Child hood. Earlier we used to go up by the 900 steps. Now cars and mini buses are going to the top. Nice place to visit and you can see the Coimbatore city view from the top.

Very good MURUGAN temple

A very nice Subramanya swamy temple situated on hills in the outskirts of Coimbatore city. A pleasant place and darshan gives great pleasure. Anybody going to Coimbatore should visit this temple. As mutugan normally stays on hills, this temple too have number of steps to be climbed for darshan, even though the vehicles reach the Tempe, quite near.

Very serene and blissful place

This Place of worship is very serene and peaceful. You can either drive up the hill or climb the hill to see the main deity. Once you reach the top of the hill you are treated with Fresh air all over !!

Excellent Temple

One of the best temple to visit and if at all you stay in Coimbatore, you have to visit this temple once. You can also see "Paambaatti Sidhar" near the temple. It is believed that the Sidhar takes the form of a snake and worships Lord Muruga.

Important holy place and a place to relax

Beautiful location. It looks amazing between June to Jan. You can simply sit and relax after darshan. Behind the main temple there is one more place called Pambatti Siddhar temple below the main temple level. Avoid festival days since it will be fully crowded. A good family trip to the important holy place and the place to relax.

A famous Lord Muruga temple

The temple lies on top of a hill, bus run by temple authorities are available and also cars and private vehicles can go to the top of the hill. This temple has a great deal of history to it, also considered as the 7th abode of Lord Muruga. There are free and paid darshan, and the paid one takes you a bit closer. Also Panchamrutham here is a special prasadam the devotees would like to buy. Incase if you are arriving by cab, it would be good to ask the cab to wait, the bus service is like 1 in 15 minutes, actually we had to take tickets from a counter outside but lack of non tamil boards lead to us knowing the fact only when we tried to enter the bus.
