Must visit- very less crowd

Mawlynnong Waterfall was an unexpected exploration. It was not in my list of spots to cover but we stumbled across it on our way to Mawlynnong from Dawki. The falls are magnificent and very few people can be seen around the falls (as compared to say Elephant Falls). A must visit place if you come to Mawlynnong.

Mawlynnong - Asia's cleanest village

It's a great experience to make it to Mawlynnong and Dawki from Shillong. You can enjoy the Indo Bangla border at Tamabil. The serene boat ride in Dawki Umngot River and of course the living root bridge of Mawlynnong.

Visit once in life time

It's a nice place to visit once in your lifetime. Asia's cleanest village and you get bamboo huts to stay and at the height of around 30 ft from ground. People were so friendly and you can find waterfalls almost everywhere you go. Tree root bridge is the main attraction.

The waterfall with the living root bridge

This beautiful waterfall is in the cleanest village, Mawlynnong. Do brace yourselves with reliable shoes as you have to walk all the way up a rocky hill to reach the sight. The living tree root bridge is a major attraction here.

No water in March

There is no point going there unless there is a rainy season. Only then would you be able to do justice to the place, we went in March.

Good place for nature loving person

The sightseeing was an unforgettable one. The sights of water fall and the lake cannot be explained in mere words. The hills and the valleys too offer a lot to a nature loving person. During the day it is clear but during sunrise and sunset it is marvelous!

Waterfalls enroute

The trip to Mawlynnong can be long, with no spectacular views such as the ones in Cherrapunji. But this waterfall seems to break the habit. Generally abandoned, be careful of your belongings though (best to keep them in your taxi) while going for a bath.
