Wettest place on Earth

This village in Cherrapunji has earned its name as it enjoys most rainfall on earth. The winters are not so wet but it is definitely not devoid of rainfalls. Carrying umbrellas or raincoats are recommended irrespective of the time of visit. One day sightseeing is enough for experiencing the beauty of this place.

The rainiest place on earth

Mawsynram in recent past has broken the record that Cherrapunjee used to hold for receiving the highest rainfall on earth. This small village is about 3 hours drive from Shillong and the road is beautiful.

The nature view and the cool weather give the visitor a complimentary invite, al

This is a great place to experience valleys and clouds and rains and so much more, a great destination for a rejuvenating road trip. The cold gushed winds and the complimentary weather, added with the hilly terrains would simply make the nature lovers go WOW , there's a good amount of scenery on the way. Facilities may sometimes be lacking owing to the low population density in the area, but with a sensitive reserve of the essentials, Mawsynram offers a great picturesque. The Indian Army has a significant presence here, so better check for stability issues before arriving here, not that I ever heard of any conflicts here.
