Quite unique in its construction, Medieval Islamic Architecture

Meeran Mosque has a significant history in the Pondicherry region, as this mosque was built by the Nawab, Ruler of Arcot, three and half century back. The Meeran Mosque is quite unique in it's construction and Architectural design, which is of just medieval Islamic Style, has a central Dome supported by four pillars, and carved Kalima slab is just at the centre of the main arch of Mehrab and Magnificent Mimber on which the prayer leader stands on Friday to deliver the sermon. Its Minaretes gives a fascinating and beautiful look to the facade, which have the polished bronze Kalash on their top. Next to mosque there are graves of Meeran, who built the mosque under his supervision and Suubhi Mullah. It exists in excellent condition and situated in and has separate room for women to offer the prayers. Surely a place to visit.
