Comfortable stay with good food & service

3.8/5
Posted 9 Mar, 2015

Kollur Mookambika temple was the first of the three temples I set-out to have darshan in the Udupi belt. I drove from Chennai to Kollur via Bangalore (used navigation tool from map my India). Took the night halt at Bangalore and started in the morning to Kollur via Shimoga and reached in the early evening Booking at Mookambika was through telephone and they had reserved a family room. The hotel I guess is relatively new and hence well maintained. Parking was an open parking; and is an adjacent open ground to the hotel. At the hotel reception desk, they provide parking coupon which need to be handed-over at the parking space (guess this must be pay and park, and is free for Mookambika Hotel). They have a small restaurant in the ground floor adjacent to the reception; and can provide very good light food, as trade-mark to Udupi restaurants. The temple is at easily walk able distance from the hotel. The hotel rooms were spacious, had television facility, hot water facility (for the bath). The bedding is very good to rest in the night peacefully. The family room seemed to have one queen size cot and a single cot (additional bedding can be arranged as like any other hotels). As people keep throng this hill temple; I am sure they must have night service. However, room service was there for food and coffee. Again, if you need a hot coffee or tea or milk for morning; keep them informed in the night. Did not rely too much on hotel food, as the anna-dhanam food is good enough for lunch & dinner at all temples in the Udupi belt. On the whole it was a comfortable stay along with family for a good temple trip.

One of the best hotel

Its an excellent choice to stay at Mookambika temple. Food is awesome, the veggies served here are super. One thing go early means before 7:30 am for breakfast because bit crowded the restaurant. 12:30 pm for lunch and so. Room and bathrooms are all clean, we went for my sons vidhyarambam took three AC deluxe rooms all the rooms were excellent and spacious too. The staff response was spot on, the travel desk is sensible and informative. Paid pick ups and drops to and from byndoor station are available. Parking facility in front of hotel is limited. Temple is five to ten minutes walking distance, but the issue is afternoon difficult because of hot and humid climate. Telephone booking is also available through which I did my booking and pay at arrival option is also available. The prices are tagged okay.

Parking is a problem, convenient location

Location of this palace is good and convenient. Staff were helpful, friendly and quick to attend. Appearance of hotel is good, room was spacious, neat and clean with well maintained amenities. Check-in/ out was on time. They provide veg food and I was happy with the quality and variety served. There are no activities in the hotel. Parking is a problem which has to be improved.

Clean rooms & hygienic food; nice location

4.5/5

The hotel is at a very good location close to the main temple. The rooms are big and clean with good and hygienic food. The hotel staff is very much cooperative and decent. I go there once every year. The hotel is quite far from the airport but the place which I visited is the temple and this hotel is close to it so that's the reason we stayed there and plus this is the best hotel among others so we decided to stay there.

Good Location, nice ambiance!

3.5/5

Mookambika Palace is a prominent building on the way to Mookambika temple. The look and ambience are very good. The guy received us at the reception was rude - I even thought of searching other hotel. Though I had booked in advance and requested them for an early check-in this guy was raising his voice - "You people book online and come in the morning. " I had called up the hotel before starting from Bangalore to inform them that we'll be reaching a bit early. Truly, my first impression was very bad. There is a very good restaurant ("Adigas") in the same building. Rooms, corridors, lift and the premises are well maintained. The house keeping staff were well mannered. Overall it was a nice experience except for the initial heckle!
