Mumbadevi Mandir is one of the most prominent place of Mumbai. It's located in one of the busiest place in Mumbai. Many of them may not be knowing this but the name of this city came from this Mandir itself. If someone is visiting Mumbai then he or she should visit this place once. There you will find devotees all round the year.Peace of Mind is Guaranteed.

Very old temple

This temple is very old and situated in south Mumbai. Visit the temple in the evening for the special Aarti. Around the temple there are so many shops and restaurants and food on street. Visit at least once.

Religious visit

This is one of the oldest temple of Mumbai. On account of this temple, Mumbai name came to this city, it is believed. This is in crowded area actually, but on Fridays etc there is lot of rush. Some nice divine feeling comes to mind when you this deity. Flowers etc is sold outside temple.

This goddess gave her name to this city of wealth

The Goddess who gave her name to the city of wealth has to be surrounded by Zaveri Bazaar the jewelry gold market! Right in the city center we went early morning to avoid crowds. Heavy security around, no camera allowed nor a snapp! Go for the heritage value any time but sunrise it is a right time to visit temples of Mumbai as even roads give way to you to arrive there in peace!

One of oldest Hindu Temple

This is also a selected temple in our route of temple visit. As it was a rainy evening there was a less crowd. This is one of the oldest Hindu temple of Mumbai.

Decent temple to be visited with decent dress

Very nice and decent temple. Nice place for devotees to visit. Additional places near to it is plus on like Haji Ali and few other temples as well. One must go with his family as it will give you a great inner peace. Please wear decent clothes, no sleeveless or sports or short clothes.

The famous temple from which city of Bombay got its name Mumbai

Located in the heart of the Mumbai this is temple of Mumba mataji or you can say goddess of Mumbai city, Mumbai previously known as Bombay was named in the name of this mataji temple. To reach there one needs to alight at Charni road station and can easily get a taxi which will take 5-10min to reach but I will suggest you to go by walk if you can walk a bit. Taxi takes more time because of narrow road and full of crowded market area so better if you prefer walk you'll find many more things which you can buy from this markets, you'll find artificial jewellery, showpiece, handicrafts etc. There are many famous mithai wala, chaniya cholis shop with other all possible things what you can buy if you want to attend the aarti you will have to reach there till 6pm in the evening because the aarti starts at 7pm.After darshan of temple you can hire a taxi to reach Chowpatty beach which is also 10min drive from this temple. There are many other sightseeing or temple which are located in 1-2km area such as Babulnath temple, Hanging Garden, Boot House, Gateway of India is also not more than 15-20min drive. I always make a stay around this place so that I don't miss any of the location.

Nice small temple

This is a temple of Maha Kali, it is small but nice not hugely crowded and you can have darshan in 10 minutes. Way to reach the temple is a small street and not that great experience, they say it is the oldest temple in Mumbai.

Cool and satisfied

I visited this temple in early morning of March, I took taxi from Colaba and reached there in 20 minute. It was a large crowd who were standing in queue for darshan. We also stood in queue after 30 mins we were able to do darshan. I felt very cool and satisfied after darshan, everyone should visit once atleast.
