Must visit Museum by art lovers

The Goa State Museum is located in Panjim, owned by Government of Goa. The architectural, cultural and art galleries are present here. One of the Museums in Goa where art lovers must visit. But the building requires some renovation to be done.

Not so worth

It's not worth watching it because it doesn't contain anything important to watch. It's owned by govt so they have to develop a lot, need a lot of thing to attract.

Not maintained, know the history of Goa

May because it doesn't charge you a visiting fee, its not maintained properly. Did not see many tourists during my brief visit. But whatever the condition of the museum, learned a lot about the rich history of Goa, culture. Seen lot work and efforts in staff working, they were nice and polite.

Good fun inside the museum

It was nice to visit Museum and to see the artifacts of Portugal history in Goa. The cannons, the paintings, the statues enchant at first, but all the walking tires you out. I don't understand why they don't allow to take snaps inside museums which sort of killed the fun. Souvenir shop only sold some books, which I wouldn't recommend.

Best museum in the State.

Out of the entire museums in Goa, Goa State Museum was the best available to us. Entry criteria was simple, we people faced no problems in the museum. We even found stuff that was cooler than what our History books taught us.

Full of interesting relics

Located in the convent of St. Francis of Assisi in Old Goa, the Archaeological Museum and Portrait Gallery has eight galleries full of interesting relics. The museum can be reached by the local transport (buses, autos, taxis) available in the Old Goa town.
