Nagarjunasagar Dam Overview

Ranked 1 of 2 sightseeing in Nagarjunakonda

The well-known Nagarjunasagar Dam is the tallest masonry dam in the world. Built on the Krishna River in 1903, the dam serves to irrigate the region's farmlands, as well as housing a hydel power generation project. The excavated remains of a Buddhist civilisation are maintained at the historical museum on an island situated in the midst of the man-made Nagarjunasagar Lake. This site has a 14th century fort, medieval temples and a museum built like a Buddhist Vihara. This museum displays and preserves many specimens of Buddhist culture and art.

Wonderful feeling which should be experienced by everyone

It is one of the greatest dam in Telangana State. It is good tourist place to visit. Before going to that place make sure there is no problem of floods or other and have a good plan to visit. The scenery of waterfalls from dam is awesome & wonderful feeling which should be experienced by everyone. To take beautiful pics it becomes a great background to photos.Camera is allowed at the location. Be safe at Dam since going nearer to the dam may cause death by flow away through water speed or flood. It is the great place to visit at free of cost & beautiful scenery. If you have time go to the place & have a great time there with friends or family. Be safe :)
