Nagarjunasagar Wildlife Sanctuary, situated in Srisailam, is also known as Nagarjunasagar-Srisailam Sanctuary. This sanctuary is adjacent to the Nagarjunasagar Reservoir and covers an area of approximately 3,568 sq. km. The wildlife sanctuary covers the districts of Prakasam, Guntur, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda and Kurnool.

In 1983, this sanctuary was declared as a 'Tiger Reserve'. In addition to tigers, this sanctuary is also home to animals like jackals, macaques, langurs and many more There are more than 150 bird species in this sanctuary including pea fouls and grey horn bills. Reptiles such as pythons, marsh crocodiles, monitor lizards and soft-shelled turtles are also present in this sanctuary.

Krishna River cutting through the Nallamala Hills also flows in the sanctuary and serves as the main water source for the animals and birds. There are guesthouses, cottages and a temple within the wildlife sanctuary. The ideal season for travelling to this place is from October to May, when the weather is cool and pleasant.
