The Eco Camp is a tented accommodation I. E. The rooms are not built of mortar and bricks, but of canvas. Set your expectations accordingly. The tents are comfortable and the "room" and the adjacent bathrooms are reasonably clean. Although these are tents, there are amenities like hot running water, flush toilets. The food is quite good. The restaurant has some strict rules about when you need to order dinner/breakfast etc. For example, you need to order dinner by 7 pm and breakfast the previous night etc. They do give you packed breakfast for your morning bird walk which is very convenient. The place is located next to the forest office. So it is quite convenient to book the permits for the crafting. It also means it is a bit of a walk to get to the river (which is the park boundary). So it will help if you have your own transport. Since the accommodation is tents, you can get easily disturbed by a noisy crowd. And the mosquitoes are a bit of a problem. The staff was quite courteous, and the front desk's help was a bit of a hit and miss.
We went for an adventure trip to the Nameri national park on 26th January 2013. We reached early in the morning amongst a blanket of fog and wave of thrill and excitement. After boarding we joined the staff along with fellow guests in the republic day flag hoisting and national anthem singing. Since we were some 11 members so we booked the dormitory rather than the tents. The place is comfortable, staff are friendly, rooms/ linens clean, food is tasty. We also enjoyed the bonfire at night.
This is a tented accommodation that's situated in a very natural surrounding. Each tent comes with attached Bath, hot and cold running water. Restaurant with local meals is a long experience of catering to overseas guests. Nameri National Park is at a walk able distance from here and the ranger's office for the necessary permits is next door. Very good place for bird watchers, look out for the Ibisbill, Hornbill or the elusive White Wing Wood Duck.
The hotel was located near to the city. The hotel provided pick up and drop service. The parking facility was provided by the hotel. The ambience at the hotel was tidy and hygienic. The interior and exterior of the hotel was very well decorated. The behaviour of the staff was active. There was no delayed in check-in and check-out procedure. The room allocated to me was spacious and clean. The amenities in the room were working properly. The WiFi facility was provided by the hotel. The laundry service was provided by the hotel. The hot and cold water facility was provided for limited time period by the hotel. I was able to see a market view from my room. They served both vegetarian and non vegetarian food. The price of food was reasonable and the quality was better. The hotel had not arranged any sightseeing trip. I would like to visit this hotel again. I would like to recommend this hotel for other travellers.
We had stayed here for a couple of days while returning back from our trip to Tawang. It is a beautifully maintained place and we had stayed in a tent, had enjoyed our stay. Food was also very good and we opted for veg thali for all our meals there. In the evenings usually there is campfire in the winters. The camp also offers several other activities like jungle walk bird watching or river rafting.
Assam's Nameri Tiger Reserve is famous for it's amazing bird life. The place boasts of various rare bird species like the white winged duck and various species of horn bills. At present there are only 2-3 options to stay at Nameri. The Eco camp is a decent place to stay at otherwise remote place like Nameri. They provide accommodation in tented cottages with basic amenities. Food is decent considering the remoteness of the place. The guided safari walks through the forests and rafting in the Jia Bhoreli river is quite an experience.
Stayed at the Nameri Eco Camp, for a day with friends on our return journey from Raunchily Pradesh in first week of April 2015. The layout of the camp is superb. There are cottages/tents around the garden which provide comfortable stay. We took tented accommodation of 2 tents with an extra bed in one tent. Tents are equipped with attached western toilets and running hot and cold water. The tents are clean and comfortable. The tents do not have locks, but the place is reasonably safe We had ordered for majority vegetarian meals on all occasions and it was very tasty. The staff is very courteous. There is jungle walk/ bird watching and river rafting activity available here We went for a guided morning trek in the Nameri Wildlife Sanctuary and saw different species of Hornbills, Elephants, deer etc. You can also go for River Rafting in the nearby Jia Bhorelli River Overall a wonderful experience. Recommended.
