The location of the hotel was good. The hotel was located in the city. The booing and front office was very good at the hotel. The check in and checkout was done on time at the hotel. The provided room was very good at the hotel. The food was very good in the hotel. There was no activity arranged by the hotel. There was all the facility provided in the room in working condition. I had visited this hotel with my family for holiday trip. There was no suggestion for this hotel I would like to recommend this hotel to upcoming travellers.
The staff were fine and the appearance was good with noble room. I travelled with family and had swimming pool and other activities. I had vegetarian food in fresh quality, there was sightseeing trip but I did not use because I had my own vehicle. There was no delay in check-in and check-out. My experience was good and was located near to beach where destination was good and valued my money and would recommend other travellers.
The place where the resort is placed has an awesome view of the beach. The resort is not so great and food served is average(not bad). Plan there if you want to enjoy the beach. You can visit places and temples near by. As this is a private property the beach is open 24hrs.
It is a good calm place .Udipi is a small town but very simple .Sea beach in Udipi is clean and beautiful not much crowd there Since i visited in Dec it was pleasant St Mary\'s island is worth visiting its 20 mins by ferry and i t is one of the best sea beach in India not many people know about it .Hotel was clean and good service
My first reaction when I reached was "Fantabulous". I was a bit skeptical about this place when I read some of the reviews but I used my 6th sense (developed from vast experience in exploring places) and it was once again proved correct. It is one of the very few places you would like to keep visiting. The rooms are clean, non-stinky, bed and bed sheets are neat, towels are fresh, bathroom is small but has all the basic amenities one needs as well it is clean. This is something in contrast to what I read in others reviews, may be they were looking for Taj or Marriott at this price point. The location is amazing with a beach that is very clean, where you will rarely find other tourists or drunken rowdies, a perfect beach destination to spend time with family and enjoy with kids. Kids will love this place. There are cute huts in the resort, each of them occupy two rooms and you are surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers, extremely well managed. You will get peace of your life most of the day and you will wake up in the morning with chirping of birds. Don't miss to take a bare foot walk on the beach during early morning and witness fishermen activities when they are back from the sea sorting out different varieties of fish. If you are lucky some of them will be happy to take you around in the sea on their fishing boat, an experience you will cherish for a long time. The food is simple but mouthwatering. I still can't forget Neer Dosa during the breakfast. Both Sridhar and Ramesh are hospitable and will do everything they can to make your stay pleasant and memorable. We were lucky and thankful to them as they accommodated us even though the resort was under going through pre-christmas maintenance. This way we were the only guest in entire resort and got some special attention to our needs :). This place is only for nature lovers and those who want to stay put at one place for few days to spend time together and eat healthy and simple food. This place is a bit remote (not too far) so you must appreciate their efforts to keep it natural, clean and pleasant rather than cribbing about everything as if you are always used to staying in a star resort and eating 8 course breakfast.
The experience we had there is so unforgettable, that we are waiting for the next earliest opportunity to dash back to the resort. It was \'AWESOME\'. The ambiance and the location along with the early morning beach experience, made it a memorable trip. The local community, particularly the fisher folks, were very accommodating with their free willed boat ride for free. But the boat was not in the menu, it was voluntary.
The place is paradise on earth. Situated bang on the beach, 2kms away from the nearest main road, the Palm Grove Beach Resort is surrounded by fishing villages. The resort has around 12 cottages - a few of them have a modern touch, but most of them retain the old world charm of an archetypal coastal dwelling - red tiled roofs which have weathered several monsoons, red flooring, courtyards and wooden pillars. The cottages punctuate a beautiful garden, and mind you, it isn't land scarped lawns fringed by pretty pruned bushes, but a typical orchard with jackfruit and mango trees, jasmine creepers and myriad wild flowers with no hint of symmetry! A warm feeling permeated when the in-house german shepherd Sweety snoozed quietly on our doorstep. Even as we settled down in our cottage, the host (well, the place is so homely, you can't call the people waiters, et all! Got us hot cups of freshly brewed coffee, which we lazily sipped on. The rumble of the waves beckoned us and we were soon walking on the beach, working up an appetite for breakfast. I think the weather played games with our appetite because all of us gorged on the toast with butter and jam and golden brown omlettes. Also on the platter was parathas with coconut chutney. After a refreshing shower, we smeared oodles of sunscreen lotion and slipped hit the beach. Because that is what we were here for! The virgin beach with pristine white sands bordered by palm trees on one side and aquamarine water on the other, was breathtaking. We were the only 'occupants' of the beach, except for the fisher folk who seemed busy mending their nets and tinkering their boats. The water was cool and the tide rather low. Perfect for fun and frolic! The beach was dotted with shacks and as the sun went up higher, we soon took recourse in one of them. The morning ticked by pretty fast. Lunch was a simple home-made veg thali. I managed to squeeze in a fried fish. Our evening cuppa was served on the beach. We put to test our architectural and construction skills by attempting to build a sand castle. But alas! The sea gobbled it all up with one mighty wave! The sun set was awesome as the sky broke out into a variety of hues of orange/ red/ yellow/ purple. We tromped back to our rooms, followed by disloyal sweety! The Bath was, well, again refreshing, because we realized we'd gotten in tons of sand and salt! The next morning dawned bright and clear. The watch glared 9am as we languidly crawled out of bed. Our plans of an early morn walk by the sea had obviously fizzled! Steamy cups of coffee and break fast followed soon after. Like I mentioned before, our appetite had definitely woken up! And well, we definitely woke up when we saw a snake staring at us from the thicket of bushes while we were at the breakfast table. Our host poohed it as a harmless garden snake and informed us that there were lots of them slithering around! As per routine, we were soon on the beach. More sun, more sand and more surf! Think we all got nice rosy brown tans in spite of the sun screen! Our host served us tender coconut and that was delightful. Another round followed soonafter we rooted ourselves in the shack. Don't know how long we were there. Collecting shells, sipping our drink, engaged in nonsensical banter. We were woken out of this blissful reverie by the cook who said our lunch was gettign cold! As the evening set in, we made a last trip to the water. After packing our bags, the host asked for an auto to drop us to the nearest bus stand from where we could take a bus to Udupi. The auto quietly ferried us through the palm trees and fisher folk settlement. The driver stopped twice to pick up people who flagged us to hitch a lift to the main road (road to civilisation, I call it! ).
Overall, a good resort, owner and staff were good people. Beach is very quiet, just for the resort people, other than the fishermen whose numbers are low as well. Little interior from nearest village Ucchala, but not to worry, auto drivers are friendly. They can get you to Ucchala which is 5 kms from this place and from there buses are humongous to go to both Udupi(20kms) and Mangalore(40kms) Food served was excellent, home made food. They prepare food right there, they dont have restaurant as such, so menu is fixed and simple. Veg would be normally- chapati(lovely, soft and hot), 2curries, dal and rice, curds, papad, pickles(on request) Breakfast- idlis or dosas Quantity was a lot, not stingy at all. Resort is located in a place, where you can get a tour of fishermen cottages etc.. a nice early morning walk to watch these things.
Nice place to stay if you are looking for a calm and serene place with lots of privacy. The beach is amazing and is so lonely. You have the freedom to be yourself at this place. Good place for a quiet getaway. But it is a bit interior (1 - 1.5 KM) from the main road which is the NH 17. Udupi is 22 KMS from this place. Food and drinks (only beer) are readily available but the food is pretty overly priced. Not much variety in the food(lunch and breakfast) during our 3 full days of stay. The room (non-AC double bedroom) was OK and was clean but do not expect luxurious rooms. But overall, we had a good time in the resort mainly because of the beach. If you want to wander out by yourself, better catch the bus or drive by yourself. Autos are pretty expensive in this part of the state. It\'s worth a stay.
The experience was truly memorable. The ambience, the setting and the unadulterated surroundings is what makes this an ideal location. This is a place which is yet to be discovered by "tourists". Am actually scared that the charm of the place will wear out once its 'discovered'.
