Panchalamkurichi Fort or the Kattabomman Memorial Fort is a famous historic attraction situated in the vicinity of Thiruchendur, at Salikulam.

As per legends the fort was built in the 18th century by the famous Panchalamkurichi King Veera Pandya Kattabomman, a Palya-karrar of the Madurai Nayak kingdom. The Fort was completely damaged in the war of 1799, when Veera Pandya Kattabomman was captured by the British East India Company. The Fort was recaptured from the British by his brother.

Post-Independence, the Panchalamkurichi Fort was maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India. In the year 1974, the Tamil Nadu Government built a new Fort in memory of Panchalamkurichi Fort and renamed it as Kattabomman Memorial Fort. There is also a shrine in the fort premises which is dedicated to Goddess Jakkammal, the hereditary goddess of Kattabomman.
