Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Chittoor taluka of Palakkad District in the state of Kerala. This sanctuary covers an area of approximately 285 sq. km and was established in the year 1973. It is located in the Sungam mountain range which lies between Anamalai Hills and Nelliampathy Hills.

This wildlife sanctuary is also under the consideration for being selected as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. Four different tribes live in this region, namely Malasar, Mala Malasar, Kadar and Muduvar. On February 19, 2010, this sanctuary was declared as a part of the Parambikulam Tiger Reserve.

It is also known for the Parambikulam Dam which is situated next to the Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary is a famous tourist site which is known for its lake cruises, wildlife safari and dam visit.
