Stayed here couple of years back. The guest have a simple appearance from outside its not so redecorated from inside as well. But rooms were good, specially washrooms were neat and clean. One major problem was that the hotel does not have its own restaurant. Staff were not professional but they tried there best, but major part was that the rooms were cheap and very economical and pick-up service is available from the hotel.
I booked a standard room for one night at the hotel. We were offered with a free pick up from railway station/airport but mails inquiring about the facility were never answered by the hotel. The hotel was located around 3 Km from Bhubaneswar railway station hence was a little away from the centre of the city. Room allotted was a ground floor room with decent space. But the attached bathroom was so small and congested. The room featured a TV and telephone. Breakfast order was not delivered as room service informed later that their pantry staff had not came. Cleanliness was average. The bed was comparatively comfortable. Overall the hotel was best suited for backpackers and other travellers with a tight budget.
I had booked one room this year March, when I arrived there with my wife they told me that I have to book another room and to have separate room. After many request they agreed to give us one room but we paid for 2 rooms, although they mention to pick from airport/railway station they don't do that, very bad experience .
Patra guest House is one of the cheapest stay in Bhubaneswar having A/C and non A/C rooms. But it is situated 7-8kms away from airport and taxi costs around Rs.250. This is not a hotel and only a guesthouse and there is not good veg food available nearby it. It may be an option for a short stay.
I stayed there for two days. I went there with my friends. The staff of the guest house was average. Restaurant was not there. I traveled by train. Cab facility was provided. It is located far from station. Hotel location is average. TV was there but geyser was not available. Cable facility was not provided. Hotel has three floors. I stayed on the third floor. Lift facility was not available. I booked my room there online. There were no problems with the booking service. Bhubaneswar is quite nice. I booked one room there. I will not recommend this hotel for other travelers.
