Another Architectural marvel! One is transported to by gone era and left wondering how on earth such feat was accomplished in those days. The intricate carvings and murals leaves you spell bound. Unfortunately not much devotees come around to witness this marvel. The temple is under the control of Archaeological Survey of India who have take pains to restore and preserve its rich heritage.

A must see temple in Kumbakonam

This temple as in other temples of kumbakonam has a very rich history. It is a humbling experience to visit this temple. The temple was under renovation at the time of visit. Had a very peaceful darshan. The place where the lamps are lit by devotees needs some cleanup.

Must visit Durga Temple

No touts chasing people, Goddess Durga is highly decorated and is a soft mode (compared to other temples) just 6 kms away from kumbakonam. All the navagrahas in the temple face the sun here.

Needs to know the history to enjoy

One of the best known temples in Kumbakonam, known for its Grandeur. One need to spend time to understand the history like in Darasuram so that we can appreciate the history. The temple is ideal for worship and prayer at any time. Be prepared to see the temple at leisure.
