Pazhayannur is a small town located around 12 km away from Lakkidi. This town is popular for its ancient shrine of Goddess Bhagavathi. It is believed that the shrine was constructed by the Maharajah of Cochin, who arrived at the site hundred of years ago. According to the local people, the king organised a daily Oottu or feast and distributed holy food to the villagers living in and around the village.

Evidences state that Goddess Bhagavathi is the Paradevatha family goddess of the Cochin royal family. A large number of tourists visit the temple especially during Mahakshetram. The temple is also visited by people during the traditional celebrations of Aarattu, Niramaala and Navaratri Vilakku. The Shiva Temple, known for the celebration of Thiruvathira and Mahashivratri, is another major attraction of this town.
