Shaniwar Wada: Good to know about history

History: Shaniwar wada was the seat of the Peshwa rulers of Maratha Empire in 18th century and this building was built in 1732.Shaniwar wada is easily accessible as Manapa bus stop is very close and the frequency is high. One can easily get an auto/taxi to Shaniwar wada from Pune station. Market area is just close and one can get auto/taxi or any other goods easily. Now this area is a very busy street in Pune, bus stop is close the this building and river is just in-front. There is very minimal entry fee to this building (Rs 5), the view is good/average. Please check out the photos which I believe speaks more than words. This place can be improved, there is lot to improve in order to attract tourist, one can easily notice that. There is no one to whom you can ask the history of this building like that. Having said this, it can be in your list to visit in any after noon.Yes, this place is not a must visiting place in Pune.

Not maintained well

The monument is worth skipping a visit. Nothing delightful and you will never keep in memory the place. Its all broken everywhere and proof how we are failing to maintain the old monuments.
