I booked their rooftop banquet (Bhairav) for my wedding on February 18, 2017. It's been a month already and all I hear from people is their awful service. Being the bride myself, I wasn't really in a position to coordinate with the staff. Well, we all know Indian weddings are about the food more than anything else. To everyone's disappointment, that's where they messed up big time. Although I personally went for tasting their food beforehand and it was pretty good to be true. So we were all hunky dory. But as it turned out the morning after, all our guests had an upset stomach. From the Pina Colada to Basanti Pulao and Mutton Kasha, everything tasted stale. By the way, it was a Bengali wedding and serving bad non-veg is no less than a crime, you know. Just imagine how embarrassing it had been for us !!. Moving on, the two rooms we had booked had 2 single beds each with a side-end table in the middle. Yes, that's what they call a Standard Room. We needed the rooms for our families to rest overnight till the early morning bidaai ceremony, but to no avail. I mean, what on Earth were they thinking, huh Honestly, all this came as a shock to us since we had received very courteous behavior in the preceding meetings. But one thing that you must be prepared for is a pathetically laid back communication (esp. Via mails, etc). It took them no less than a month to revert with the decor catalogue, food menu, etc. One literally has to pester them to get things done. With a good location near CC 2 and a nice ambience over, Pi pal Tree definitely needs a reality check on the service front. That's how diplomatic I can manage to sound after an almost ruined wedding celebration at their behest. Also, there was hardly any staff during dinner.
Got a lucrative deal through Goibibo. Com using promo code for discount and redeeming Go Credit. This is a nice boutique hotel near the airport. Used it for night while transiting through the airport Positives:. 1. Near the airport - 10 minutes drive. 2. Cosy rooms and nice colonial era decor (in the lobby near the lift). 3. Decent linen and beds. 4. Good service. Staff took over luggage etc imm on arrival. 5. Very nice restaurant - Aminia, near the hotel. Great food Negatives:. Not many but if you are heavy user of internet, might be disappointed with the 200 GB coupons which you will have to keep ordering from the reception Overall, a very comfortable stay. Recommended if you are transiting through the airport or have work around this area. Don't know how its location fares if you have work in the other parts of the city.
I decided to stay in this hotel because of the location. I want to catch next day early morning flight to Mumbai so to avoid early morning rush. I decided to stay in this hotel. The location was perfect and front office staff was very courteous. Because of early arrival we were not able to check-in the room. Room was superb. Amenities were nice. Staff were polite. Food was tasty. Charges were very affordable. I enjoyed my stay there.
The hotel is conveniently located close to the airport. Its perfect for someone waiting for a transfer. The receptionist and the staff are professional and very helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are well furnished and fitted with premium products. The room prices are a good value for money, especially considering that hotels in Kolkata are overpriced. We loved the food we ordered from room service. Good location near city centre mall. Plenty of eating options within walking distance. It also has Domino's Pizza in the same premises.
For those travellers who want to stay near Kolkata airport this hotel is the best hotel to stay. Rooms are spacious, food is good and for seafood lovers this hotel is the ultimate destination. Reception people are nice, Eco park is only 5 minutes drive from hotel. During puja holidays one of the best hotels to stay.
