Plantation trail by Tata Coffee estate comes from the times of British era built- which was taken over and now run by the Tatas as there coffee estate . There 3-4 are bungalows that accommodate 25 rooms across the plantations. Each of these bungalows can be taken up entirely or per room basis . We stayed in the Wishfully Bunglow- highly recommended. Every bungalow has one caretaker and dedicated chef who takes care of all the needs of guests personally. Food was excellent - homely and freshly made. You can give your choices and they will make that for you . Coffee they make is excellent . No regrets absolutely . Surrounded by and amongst the coffee plantations and oak and rosewood trees, it's full or flaura and fauna- all you can see around is green and colours of flowers, all you would hear is birds chirping and singing . You will also find wild elephants around that you must be careful of . They will take you for a safari ride in the plantations where apart from coffee you will also find pepper, supari, jackfruit, spices . You can also go bird watching in the mornings or play golf in the golf course they have . In short- coming from Tatas - one of the best that you can get around to stay when your in Coorg.
I had been to Coorg in the month of January 2017 and stayed in the The Bongow. It was my holiday trip with family. The place where I had been to was good. I would rate the location as very good transportation is easy from this place. I would rate the appearance of the hotel as average. The staff at the reception was average. I booked my room through online. I would rate the services in the hotel were average. The rooms at the hotel were good because of facilities and decoration. The hotel food was average.
Plantation Trails offers cottages and bungalows that are over a 100 years old. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Being a guest house, there is no restaurant in house. There is a limited meal selection available in the in house kitchen. Meals are delicious and reasonably priced. Service is also prompt and good . Room tariffs are on the higher side when you look at the amenities that come with the room. The bungalow room costs over Rs. 1000 a night, but does not have a mini bar or complimentary tea / coffee within the room. At a similar price, a 5 star hotel would offer much more comfort in the room. There is a play area for children, but it is just about functional. A lush green, well manicured lawn would have tremendously increased the beauty and appeal of the place. While the rooms are located inside a coffee plantation, the plantation itself is hardly visible from the rooms . Overall, for a couple with a small child, the cottage is more value for money than the bungalow. Apart from the novelty of staying within a coffee plantation, there isn't much of benefit staying this side of Coorg, given that all the tourist attractions are at least an hour's drive away.
This is the actual place if you want to experience the stay in coffee plantation. It is managed by TATA. Located in Pollibetta which is 45 km from Madikeri town but worth visiting if you want to relax in between plantation. We stayed in Thaneerhulla cottage in Wishfully estate (largest coffee estate in Coorg) Although the cottage was not that of colonial feel which is written in many reviews but was well maintained with facilities for badminton, chess, cards, carom, magazines, WiFi so that whole family can relax. Rooms are of adequate size with good cleanliness and are air conditioned There is common dining area for three rooms. Two people are there to look after your needs, provide good service. Food is good especially the breakfast has lots of option In evening they take you for plantation safari in open Tata safari which is really awesome. They explain you the process of the coffee making. In morning they take you for nature walk and bird watching. Birds are only seen during monsoons not other times. So must go if you want to relax in lap of Mother Nature.
The hotel was very good and I had very nice stay in the hotel. I went there with my friends. The hotel was conveniently located. The interior and exterior of the hotel was very good. Staff were very cooperative and friendly. The service provided on time. I didn't face any delay during g check-in and check-out process. Parking space was there in the hotel. The room was spacious, clean and maintained. The washroom was also neat and clean. There was nice view available from the room. I had only dinner in the hotel, but taste was not up to the mark and also it was very expensive. They also provided non veg food. Other activities were not conducted by the hotel. Overall, it was a good vacation and I liked the hotel. I would like to recommend this hotel to other tourist. I don't have any suggestion for the hotel improvement. The location of the hotel was very good and it was a nice place to visit.
They offer drive to the coffee plantation which is really good. The rooms are pretty big, comfortable and well maintained. Food is Delicious and Service is good. Herd of Elephant can be seen if lucky. No one is allowed to go outside after 7:00 p. M. Because of Elephants.
It was very good. I went there with my family in May 2013. My trip was for relaxation. It was nearby the city. I reached there by my own vehicle. Facility of parking was available there. Shops for shopping were not available nearby the hotel. Hotel's staff was very good. Interior and exterior of the hotel was very good. Both were equally good. I stayed there for 4 days under package. Food was average it was not that great. They provided both veg and non-veg food. Room was good with TV, geyser, refrigerator, and all amenities. No view was there. Check in and checkout was easy. They did not provide any activity there. They arranged a guide for us. We went for a nature walk. It was value for money. They have a couple of property in this location so maybe I would try couple of other properties. Services were good there. I can definitely suggest it to other travellers. Food can be improved. Otherwise, all things were good there.
The hotel was not as per the expectation. Services and food was average. Facilities were below average. There were lots of mosquitoes inside the hotel. From Tata Plantation, I expected good service and environments. The place is too far to visit any place, but they organized taxi service.
We as a family wanted to go for a relaxing holiday which did not involve too much time in travel. We found Coorg to be a destination which was close to Mysore station and easily motorable. The climate was cool and it was not a bustling city. We were guided to the hotel by its staff. The place was a spacious bungalow located on top of a hill, in a coffee plantation with big comfortable rooms, each room having a different view of the plantation. The staff was very hospitable and provided us with excellent meals keeping our taste buds in mind. We shared the bungalow with other families who were also there on a holiday. We also took trips to the tea, coffee plantations and to a waterfall nearby. We had a restful time. I would like to spend more time in the bungalow itself and carry more books to read.
the cottages are situated in fantastic location with beautiful surrounding. Since there are only 4-5 rooms you feel like its ones own cottage. The service needs to be much more professional for the amout that is charged per night. one day they served curdled milk with tea. Dinner table was not laid out properly.
