Camel Ride

Pushkar Camel ride point is 1 km from the Pushkar Lake. The common ride offers a ride on small trolley attached with Camel. 5 to 10 people can sit on trolley, you may book the private camel (solo ride) also. But do not expect a desert walk here, as it has green areas only.

A Must Try thing while visiting Pushkar

If you are visiting Pushkar, a must try to do is Pushkar CAMEL SAFARI, you can try evening safari after 06:00 PM where you can see Desert beauty at night with some folk dances and other activities or you can choose Early Morning SUN RISE based Camel Ride. Which is also good. Generally, a normal Camel ride takes approximate 2 hours but it generally varies based on the guide.

Must Try

If you are visiting Pushkar camel fair, it would be advisable to try camel ride to visit whole fair as the area is too large to cover on foots. There are camel and camel carts available to take you for the camel safari. If you want to enjoy sunset have a evening camel safari. They will take you to the sand dunes. Its a beautiful experiece, must try.

Can be avoided

A camel ride in the so called "desert" will cost you 1000 rs for a camel and 1500 for camel with a cart for 60-90 mins ride. There is literally nothing to see. There is no desert in Ajmer but a small patch of sand and the ride area has many houses. They promise to show you aam ke bagh, aawle ke bagh, gulab ke bagh, haweli while on the tour. Yes they do show you but what they do not tell you is all these baghs are private properties on the road surrounded by mesh wires and you just cross them while riding a camel. You cannot get in into any of them neither can get closer. The so called thakur ki haveli is a resort and that too has high fences. Nothing to see.You will be chased by kids begging for money. For all these you are made to pay huge money. Just avoid.

A desert experience

If you are on a Rajasthan Tour & skipping jaisalmer so you might miss deep sand Camel Rides, but no worry, I enjoyed the same fun on large camel but on small scale in Pushkar city near Brahma temple. It costs around 500 bucks per person for a 1 to 1&1/2 hour ride.Gives the Camel ride experience at small scale. There are small scale vendors who own this facility, A tip from costing point of view these vendors do a bargain for this ride so feel free to save few bucks as per your wish.
