Top view of the city

We went there during early monsoon and the view was covered by fog. However if you wait there slightly longer, it clears up and you can get a view of the town from top. Its a very pretty sight.

Great view of Sunset but super crowded

We ought to thank the designer who thought of the gallery from where we can sit and watch the setting sun against the chain of high and low-rise-mountains.Raja's Seat is best known for the sunset view. I was lucky to experience it on my first visit. And even though it was very crowded, we spent almost 2 hours there, till 7 pm, when it was almost dark. On my second visit, however, the sky was overcast, and with no chance of a sunset, there was nothing else to do except watch the 300 odd people trying selfies. There is a toy train for the kids outside the main gate. There's also some street food.If you do visit, please go ONLY in the evening to catch the sunset.

Raja's Seat .. The King's Royal Seat to view Sunsets

It was once the platform from which the kings of Coorg-Kodagu used to enjoy glorious sunsets with their consorts. The spot got its name as it was the favourite recreational place for the kings. The spot offers a breathtaking view of the majestic hills..green valleys..studded with paddy fields! Its amazing to view the roadway to Mangalore like a curved ribbon crossing the valley.

Serene in the late evenings.

The raja's seat is amidst a tiny, well maintained park. I wouldn't call it a must-see place but if you find yourself there, you can enjoy the quite cool breeze atop the hill. Lots of local vendors sell grub. Pretty safe.

Overrated. Can miss.

One can avoid this. There isn't much there, its just a garden around a view point. The view is very beautiful though. Just nearby is the toy train ride, nothing fancy though.

The beautiful Rajah's seat

This is one complete package for every age group, full time pass. To start with, the garden is simply spectacular. The gardening is simply awesome. There is a terrace from where you get to have the spectacular view of the Kodagu valley. If you visit around sunset time you can enjoy the charming musical fountains. There is a toy train adjacent to the park and small shops for toys and souvenirs. The toy train ride has fees and is pretty exhilarating, reminds us of childhood. There is a small temple dedicated o Durga maa adjacent to the Rajahs' seat. Do visit that too, to seek divine blessings and round off your trip with a perfect icing on the cake.

Good park for kids to take a break and enjoy

You can go here as it is bang in the middle of Madikeri town and it is spacious. The toy train is nothing to scream about, but it is a good 5 minute ride and very affordable.
