Worst place to visit

If you want to go to Rajgad Fort from Pune, its road is very worst but sightseeing amazing. It's too high and nice to view. The best way to visit there is day. There is no food available and no water, drinking water is dirty so take your own bottle.

Extremely beautiful and very easy to climb

This fort was the first capital of Marathas. Remains of fort are still there, scenery from above is really beautiful. I would suggest to climb at evening and stay in the temple which is on the fort. You'll get food facilities, it's safe and relaxing. Perfect weekend destination.

One night trek

You should have strong leg with heart of Marathon runner, its one day trip but try another way to visit such a place. To start trek at 3pm stay at fort in your camp or temple, make food for yourself, then see the sunrise at morning and flow of cloud form Bhatghar dam catchment area to all dimensions.

Nice place for trekking

This place is very nice place for trekking I had visited in rainy season, it is bit difficult to climb there are some rock patches, there you have some support to take and walk. You may feel its dangerous but its safe and a bit easy. Best time to go is at rainy season or in winter from top of the mountain you can see 3 different forts on of it's named dukes nose.

Dont miss the Rajgad Fort if love trekking and ancient architecture

The fort is triangular. It has three sides to keep eye on land below. "Machi" is the marathi word for this highly built structures. Suwela, which is pointed towards the Bhor Taluka and the backwater of Bhatghar dam can be seen from this machi. Sanjivani, too long machi pointed towards Raigad fort. I have visited the fort, takes two days to get all things seen. There are temples, water filled ponds. Central highest peak of fort is "Balekilla" that is main part of fort.Fort has two main doors called Mahadarwaja Gunjani and Pali based on the villages nearby. This was made first capital of Maratha empire by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, due to geographic advantages. You should have plenty of water and food with you during journey. Start from Velha village. You can take local people to guide you. Sightseeing can be done whole day. Fort is too large to take overall view in single day. You can stay on Padmavati machi.
