Crowdy yet cool and breezy

I visited Ram Jhula which is situated approx 4 KMS from Rishikesh bus stand. The place is known for its variety of small shops which sell items like junk jewellery, hippy style clothes, meditation and yoga equipments and clothes, different flavored cigarettes etc. These shops cater the foreigners who are in awe with these shops. The shops are flooded with people who come to visit Rishikesh and also go on 4 dhaam yatra. The best time to visit is in the evening and sit by the banks of river ganga. Its very breezy and you can find oil lamps all over the Ganga river. Sit back and relax for a couple of hours over a cup of tea.Enjoy the beauty and grandeur of the holy river Ganga.

Wonderful and fantastic Roopway Bridge in Rishikes

Ram Jhula (Hindi: is an iron suspension bridge across the river Ganges, located 3 kilometres (1. 9 mi) north-east from the town Rishikesh in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The bridge connects the Sivananda Nagar area of Muni Ki Reti in Tehri Gearwheel district to Swargashram in Pauri Gearwheel district crossing the river from west to east. Built in the year 1986, the bridge is one of the iconic landmarks of Rishikesh. There are many Hindu ashrams and religious centers established at both sides of the Ganges. It is also a connecting bridge between Sivananda Ashram located in Muni Ki Reti to Gita Bhawan, Parmarth Niketan and other temples located in Swargashram. Though similar in design, this bridge is bigger than Lakshman Jhula which is 2 kilometres upwards the river stream. This bridge is constructed with the span of 750 feet (230 m).

Ram jhula

Ram jhula is very near to laxman jhula in Rishikesh, beautifully built on two banks of river ganges, nicely built and really a picturesque area, one can enjoy while crossing the river ganges.

Ram Jhula

Rishikesh has been blessed by Shri Ram and Shri Laxman/Laxman by getting these strong suspension bridges. Both the bridges are great but local people's and other travellers should not be allowed to drive 2 wheelers on the bridges. It affects the bridges as well as tourists.

Good place to visit

The place is bustling with people but is poorly managed. Local authorities must do something about it. Its a lively place on the banks of River Ganges and one can sit for hours by the riverside and feel the divinity all around.

Jhula on Ganges

Ram Jhula is manufactured near old Laxman Jhula, near Muni Ki Reti, on the Ganges. It is made with the sport of iron ropes on both sides, usually we enjoyed while crossing one side to other side. It is a masterpiece of the engineers presentation of their mind. Lovely place for excursion. Great to be here.

Best Place to View the Ganges

Walking on a hanging bridge across a fast flowing river, the wind slightly swaying the bridge as you walk on it, cool breeze blowing across your face and rhythmic hymn playing in the background - that's Ram Jhula. With shops lined on either side of the bridge, and ghats to walk down and soak your feet in the Ganga, this is a must visit for anyone travelling to Rishikesh.
