Not to miss this marvel

One needs permission from ASI office to enter this palace. It is inside the Bidar fort itself. There is a board saying the Rangin quarter on the left - but it is locked. ASI office is further inside the fort. It opens at 4 pm after lunch. It is worth waiting to enter into the quarter. A person comes and opens the doors one by one and also guides you. He does not tell much history - but knows the paintings, inscriptions, door frames and park's view from the quarter. There are silver and gold thread work on copper plates over the door frame. The door frames are wooden carvings. There is no door - probably closed by ASI with brick wall. Arabic Quran inscriptions are there outside. Inside a room, the ceiling is rich with arabic blue painting. Some of the workmanship is done with mother of pearls. Vandalism has taken away hose pearls and precious metals from the quarter. If you open a side door, you can see a park for queens to walk. I was reminded of Alhambra of Spain. Some of the doors are short, one has to bend and enter. There are many rooms, few stairs lead to balcony. Tipped the watchman and left with a heavy feeling.

Colourful experience at Rangin Mahal literally

I loved Rangeen Mahal, as the name sounds it's quite "Rangeen"(Colourful). I loved the artwork done there by stonemasons in the old era. It was not paint, it is actually stones embedded into the roof. There were Niches(Mehraab) everywhere, glimpses of Persian architecture could be seen easily. After visiting here, go to the Gagan Mahal and Museum. Take your snacks and drinks, because you can't purchase stuff inside.

You can get a nice Glimpse of the past

You can get a nice Glimpse of the past, it was awesome. Rangin Mahal has restricted access you gotta tell people that you're a tourist and they will open its entrance for you. It has like all that Arabic Persian artwork done. You will see all 7 colours moving around the amazing royal roof in Rangin Mahal. These colours aren't paint or something, but they're stones coloured stones, so they had to cut these tiny little stones and fit in there. You start thinking how was it made, you get that Nostalgic feeling about Indian Heritage and breath-taking moment while you admire the artwork.

Without taking a prior approval you cannot go inside thr palace

Rangin Mahal is under ASI (Archeological Survey of India) and without taking a prior approval you cannot go inside. In fact ASI office is right at the entrance. This popular as queen's place, king had created it for her queen around 500 years ago. It has some mesmerizing feel of Persian art loved the sculptures and decorated tiles, we really enjoyed spending time over here. Such place should be maintained even better and just not left banded.
